Family Tradition

Great job on the lights Will. I like your style - nothing gets done half ***.

WOW!! Now that is bright. You'll be competing with the Northern Lights out there. I like it though , nice and bright and safe.

Thanks a lot guys..That means a lot coming from you fella's with the quality of work you do. Thanks Joakim for turning me on to the HID's. "Northern Lights", that would be a catchy name if a guy was to start a business putting HID/Halogen conversion kits together for old rides. Hmmmmm.

northern lights would be a catchy name for another kind of business too...:icon_weed:

Nordiclight, hmm, Nordicxenon was my company name!

This was my companycar with xenon in Low, high and foglight, did 9,71s, 77 mph on 201 m with 18" wheels.
After new software it ran 9,39, pretty nice family car, same chassie as Golf V GTI.
Sorry to highjack your thread Will. I can remove it if you want to.

Those 512 emblems are gonna look great on your black RR! How long until you get them? If you decide to go cheaper i'm sure you could get a similar look by making some high quality graphics out of the final design.

Man those lights look awesome Prop! Definitely gonna do this! Thanks for all the "how to"

usually I don't care for badge changes....BUT that 512 looks great! it has a "stock look", and on BLACK with the ghost stripes! you have something special. ..

Anyways...back to the roadrunner. Not a whole lot of time today. Got her off the jacks and finally got a full profile look at the car with the wheels. Whatcha think? I'll be installing all the brake lines, master and booster and wiper motor next.

I have been catching up with is thread taking Time to read & learn.....this RR is so Sinister & "BAD" looking...the wheels are perfect!

Great to see your ride on here Joakim. Nice ride! That blue is stunning. Really pops in the sun!

Thanks Tallhair....They said it can take up to a couple weeks to get them out the door. They asked if I had the font style Chrysler used for them, which was obviously a no, so it takes them a bit more time to try and duplicate the image I created. Should see an initial run on their design soon. Glad you dig the lights. Even if you want to skip dabbling with HID's and ballast's, the conversion would work well with Halogen.

Appreciate it Sonny.... It was fun going a little out of the box with the bird. Spent a lot of time trying to imagine what this or that would look like on the car and i'm glad I did. MarPar actually turned me onto the wheel style. The ones he recommended were a charcoal color, but I seen the black in the same style and thought that was the ticket. A lot of stuff on this car came from suggestions and ideas from folks here at FBBO, including the 512 badge. Tossed all that in with my own tastes and she came out great. The black on black on black....well, I think that really helps scream the tough Mopar attitude the car deserves. I'm sure happy with it. Thanks again

X 2 Awesome looking machine!

Why did it take me so long to read this thread! You Prop, are a living restoration God. I'm still waiting for it to warm up enough to melt the snow in my driveway so I can pull the car out and get the engine in. Looks like that should be happening this weekend.

A couple comments about posts on your thread. First, I still can't get the factory quarter windows lined up and have the same issue as you did...they go too far inboard at the top. I've about given up on ever actually getting to install my rear seats because of this. Second, someone mentioned different colors of carbon fiber for the console. I know some of my friends, who are tuners, aka ricers, aka not for me. Spray either candy or this spray paint from VHT called Nite-Shades which is transparent enough to show the carbon fiber through the color. I've seen it on Honda hoods and such and looks really cool. It changes the color but only a little bit, it really pops when the sun hits it.

Once I get to finally drive my RR I'll be doing some upgrades that you've already incorporated especially that HID hookup, man that's sweet.

Thanks Eagleone for taking the time to go through the book....A restoration god may be a bit steep of title..lol, I appreciate it though.....but I honestly really didn't do anything spectacular that you didn't on your own car. We both took the time/money/effort to bring our birds back and it looks like we're both over the hump, getting ready to burn some pavement this year.

I hear you on the windows! What a pain. I finally got mine to seat, but it took a ton of tinkering with the adjusters. They were still not dead on and I don't know if that was due to the fact the quarter glass is AMD or not, but for the little bit they were off I was able to compensate by adjusting the main glass to fill the gap. Everything sits an seats well, so i'm finally happy with them. Thanks for the tip on the Carbon Fiber. I know Stu was looking for something in color to match his pistol grip shifter. Those ideas are a real good idea to apply down the road. Thank you.

You'll enjoy the HID's or even just a relay system if you go that route. I can't really give a review of the brand of HID's I went with being all I have done is lit up the backside of my garage door, but just the look and brightness is dang impressive. I'd recommend taking a look at all kits out there and figure out what's gonna work for you.

Thanks for the tune Snakeyes! That's actually the same song the wife said needs to be blaring on the birds radio when some air finally fills its lungs. Funny thing is classic rock was never her forte, but still knew that song well enough to relate it to the black mopar in the garage. I'm looking forward to turning up that knob with some Ram Jam rockin across the airwaves.

Yer gunna lower that car about 2"? aren't You Will?

Looks good as is to me.It will drop some with a drivetrain it it.

She's coming down in the front Steve, just like Jay mentioned....I'll get about a 2" drop in the front from the drive-train, just enough to make the wheel opening about level or just a tad lower than the wheel. My driveway has a bit of a tilt towards the road, so her stance now looks like a rake to the front, but that's deceiving. Once the drive-train is in, the car will have pretty much the same rake to the front as the picture above appears to have. Only difference is the front wheel will be higher into the wheel well.

I based my rear wheels height off my desired RPM at highway speed with the 3.91's as well as Hunt2Elks rake on his bluebird. My rear will be about an inch higher because I have the Cal-Tracs underneath. Same springs/tire height though.
