Thanks Roger! Appreciate it buddy....Yeah, i'm a regular old Bob Barker..lol Think I'll stick with just wrenching on cars. I'm sure your bird will turn out fantastic and it would be great to cruise down the road together someday. You already got a great jump on your RR, now it's just finding the time.

Actually you're right Tallhair. Still a bit of business to take car of. Spent the whole day in the garage. Welded in the Globe West Subframe connectors. Also installed the front sway bar, fixed a nasty valve cover leak, swapped out a bunk temps sensor and started messing with some of the audio. Tomorrow, going to flush the coolant (nasty), tidy up some grounds up front (little bit of flickering) and hopefully wrap up the audio. Then..........sometime in the near future, make a driving vid.
 
Thanks Will. We can't quit all cold turkey like that ;). I don't recall, why did you decide on the globe west vs the US Tool subframe connectors?

Oops I meant when he writes the book from this thread. It could come with an optional DVD though. "Skeletor, Life to Death and Back Again." A feel good story about a car and his owner. I see Mark Wahlberg as Prop and the General Lee as Skeletor. :hello2:

I don't know about who should play Will, maybe George Clooney as he has a good sense of humor like Will, but Skeletor should play Skeletor. They can do wonders with CGI to reverse the restoration for the first half of the movie.

Who's gonna play Mar?
 
LOL........You guys are too much. Mario would have to be the young 007 Sean Connery of course. Just so he walk around saying Octopussy and Goldfinger.

As far as the subframe connectors go, I went with the globe west because I heard good things about them. The Tubular design transfers energy better that box tubing, as in most dynamics. And I didn't see where a huge improvement would be seen in tying subframes into the floor pans. I also imagined trying to remove a floor pan that has a subframe welded all the way down it.

Amazing job Prop! You brought the bird back to life and made her fly! They need to make a resto book from your restoration. Would be a number 1 seller, such an inspiration to so many.

I would bet you made your woman very happy! After I heard that bird growl, I know what it did to me. (can I say boner) Lol. Again, great job Will.
 
LOL! Thanks 68bee70RR! Great to go from "holy crap I have a lotta work ahead of me" to "time to have fun". Definitely gives a guy a whole new level of respect for the car when you're the one busting knuckles, getting burnt by weld spatter and spending many sleepless nights trying to revive her from the dead. Still stunned by the power the motor puts out. Had a guy in a early 2000's' Chev pickup with Turbo Blue, Flowmaster and checkered flag GM Performance stickers all over his back glass come flying up next to me this morning, getting all huffy-puffy on the gas. Got old quick so I tapped about half throttle and like a snap I was gone. Literally a 2-3 second thump of the pedal. I heard him give the pedal a mash, but gave up quickly being I was walking all over him. Pulled up next to me at the stoplight and wouldn't even look at me. LOL I have about 400 miles to go on the break in for rear end and tranny so I can't go balls to the wall on the throttle yet. Judging from just half throttle, I can't even imagine what will be unleashed when I open up those secondaries all the way. Good times!

Thanks again 68B70RR. I'd like to hit up the nats, but judging off my work schedule it's not looking too promising. As far as not being able to give her the berry's...Yeah it sucks!! Kinda like don't hit the big red button.
