Fender tag and vin number

What engine is in the car now? I know it could have been changed over all these years, but, it might give an indication. The VIN shows a 383 4bbl. The fender tag shows a 318.

Actually no.....it looks like a DMV plate that was issued to the car.

Canadian DMV doesn't make tags. As noted earlier... if there is a registration slip existing, all we do is sign it over on the back and the new owner goes to the licence bureau and gets a new one in his name. No muss, no fuss... nobody looks at the car. Even a garage doing the safety would only look at the paperwork most likely.

That said, if I was the OP I'd stop asking people in official positions questions.. lol

Nooo those are factory....

Maybe someone drilled the VIN to take it off for paint? That was the one thing I did not remove when I painted my Charger!

How about a picture of the car itself. The bodies of Coronets and Belvederes look completely different. Wondering if you have a Belvedere cuz the trim tag looks legit to me.

Yeah, some photos of the car may help. Lots of Canadian cars used Dodge front ends with Plymouth back ends and vice versa. Maybe this was an assigned VIN to replace a lost one? The stamped shipping order number on the core support should match the one on the fender tag. What sort of paperwork did you get with the car? Did it match the VIN?

My father had the same car he had bought at an Auction. It was a Losangeles Police Interceptor cop Car it had A 383 Magnum Motor and a 727 A Torque flight A with a shift Kit the car screamed on down the road. Nice car you have!

I have a Gal friend who has a 1967 Coronet RT original 440 Car I rebuilt the front end then replaced the fuel Tank had it aligned at Bear Frame & Wheel. When I returned her car she said she just sits in the Car does not drive it. She said her dad would drive her to JPL where he worked on the Apollo Missions to the Moon. This was some ten years ago. I stopped by her house and the car has flat tires and parked where she told me to park it but will not sell it. She has an attachment to the car riding in it with her dad.Very solid driving car!

Why on earth would you want to take out the Dana unless you wanted to get a better selection of gearing?

Yes, my garage is a disorganized disaster I use to be so Organized but as I get older I just have no Energy for extra work!
