Finding TDC

I hear you but I can get it pretty close because I can see it "pause" and start going down. So I can get it roughly in the middle. Bottom line is I'm out of options. It bent my piston stop and I couldn't even feel the resistance. I'm not taking the motor apart. I'm doing this to verify TDC vs. the balancer mark because my timing light claims I'm at 36 BTDC at idle. If anyone has a better idea I'm listening

So I did the endoscope thing and it was very obvious where TDC was because the distance I would move the crank before I would see the piston move down on both directions was equal. Also turns out my balancer was dead on so the mark was correct. So this is not the best method but it will get you real close. What I discovered was a massive vacuum leak. She didn't want timing she wanted the leak fixed. Also noticed my #1 plug had the ground touching the center electrode for a 0.0000 gap. Fixed that and now she is purring again.
