first wheelie

"all I seen was the sky" ? :hmh:

I learned two things a long time ago. There's "ALWAYS" somebody faster than you and "NEVER" say never. Having said that, somebody needs to put down the pipe and open a window. I also believe none of what I hear and only half of what I see and I gotta say that assuming that big B Body is in street trim, you might want to check the mounting bolts on the drivers seat. The best RR launch with an automatic in street trim (full interior, street tires and full exhaust) that I have ever witnessed pulled the left front tire off the ground about 2 inches and I have been playing with these cars for 39 years.

Love your enthusiasm though ...

Ahh, the Widow Maker. Bad bike sir!
My friend has 3 or 4 of those that are super restored. I mean perfect never ridden type of restored. The look better than showroom new. I think he wants between $7 and $8K for each. He actually has spare tanks just in case you ever thought about riding one. Those tanks looked perfect to me too.

X2...Back in high school I was riding with a buddy in his 51 Plymouth approaching the school parking lot. It was a slight uphill as you got into the lot and, thinking he was Steve McQueen, he punched the throttle in first gear. The seat bolts let go and we both saw 'headliner' as we flipped toward the back seat. Fortunately there was a big old oak tree that brought our 'flight' to a screeching halt before we hurt anybody. Didn't hurt the Plymouth much and the only real damage was done to our egos.
I love a good story as much as anybody, but have way too many years on me to NOT call somebody on 'street car' wheelies. Sorry if anybody is offended but BS is BS...

Propwash: Here I thought I was being really tactful in my #5 post... Guess you saw through it, huh?

Dave.....you're typically about as tactful as a porcupine in a balloon store. But, never the less, good to have you around.

Must've been on the upside of one of those legendary Kentucky hills.

I don't know what all the blowback's about. I pop wheelies in my bone-stock street pickup all the time.

The motor in the car was never meant for the street it was meant for track only but I can't help but drive it on the street and play with the mustangs and camaros and I like the seat comment because the seat has been falling back but not this time

My cousin got one tire up a couple inches on a 72 charger with 2 4's over a tunnel ram on a stroked 440 with a huge stall, mini tubbed, spooled D60 & a pair of sticky micky's.

With repeated attempts, just the right surface, just the right conditions and just the right launch, there are several that swear they seen a little air under that stubborn passenger front that wants to keep it's finger tip on the pavement.

:eusa_clap:

i have gotten air on the street, but it wasnt in no street car.how about some specs on the ride?i will give anyone the benifit of the doubt,as long as they can back it up.

I've done wheelies on the street before but it was gas brake gas brake gas brake gas.......it was ugly but the front wheels did leave the ground lol

Good for you 70 Roadrunner Lover, I assume it was in your 70 RR... lets hear some details on your set-up, do you run drag radials or slicks around on the street ??, do you have aftermarket suspension pieces ?? We need more details...LOL... Inquiring minds want to know... Just curious, was it the car in your Avatar ??, it looks to be pretty stock appearing, sounds like she's a real sleeper...
