Anyone have any pictures that show the original installation of the wire covers that attach to the floor pan on the sides? Also, how do they attach? Screw? Tack weld? Loose?

Mine were missing when bought my car. Also, I know the rear body harness goes under the left one - is there anything that goes under the right side? The car is a Superbird.

I purchased these from AMD. http://www.autometaldirect.com/amd-floor-wiring-cover-set-66-70-dodge-plymouth-b-body-p-4529.html
Thanks in advance for any help!

They are spot welded originally. Sorry, I don't have any pics.
I'm sure someone will have pictures here. ruffcut

I might be wrong, since it was a couple decades ago when I did mine, but I think they were held in by black seam sealer. I'll check my old pictures for verification and to possibly answer your other questions.

(Ruffcut already proved me wrong).

On a 67 they were tack welded; they have little tabs that allow you to bend them up to get underneath them.
I left mine off when I replaced the floor pan. You may be able to zoom in and see them in the pics. I can post some more tommorow when I go to the shop, I think I still have them.

On my 70 charger they were tack welded. I’m at work now but could post some pictures in the morning.

As stated by Mike67 and Kent above - tack welded on the flat sills about an inch from the door pinch seams so you can fold them over or squash them down to match the round contour of the floor pans edges. Sorry my pic is so crappy. Mine (65') have all the tail light, fuel level and convertible top pump wiring on drivers side. Tach and console light and rear kick panel light wires chased down or coming off passenger. 2 long in front, two short in rear.

Here's a few I just took. They could be better. Still dark here. Let me know if you need more.

A little bit brighter in the primer.

Thank you for the pics. It looks like your left side is in the finished position and the right side is open, still needing to be folded over. Am I seeing that right? Are the thin tabs where they actually attach to the floor pan tack welded? Each side has two pieces, a short piece and a longer piece. Do the shorter pieces go towards the rear? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Thank you!

Yes you are seeing that right. Pass side is in the open position. Drivers side in the closed. The shorter piece goes towards the front. The long piece to the rear on my 70 Charger anyway.

Thanks to everyone who posted answers and pictures. I get the installation of them now as far as how they are attached and bent over, etc. I did get two different takes on which piece goes to the front and which piece goes to the rear. Islandkent has the shorter pieces going to the front (on a 70) and Alsd65 has the shorter pieces going to the rear (on a 65). I know it may not matter as you do not see them anyway but would love to hear if any one knows which piece is where on their car (especially SgtSuperbird since his car is also a Superbird). Thanks!!!

It was 10 years ago when I dealt with those, but what I remember was they were spot (not tack) welded in. The short piece is in the front. And I don't remember any wires under the right side cover. Maybe they also doubled as a spacer to keep the carpet angled right? This was on a '70 Charger.
