found another road runner, now what the heck do i do?

I got the call monday night telling me the road runner ive been waiting on was for sale and i was first on the list. Went and bought it that night. I got it home and thought what am i gonna do now? Its a 69 r4 383 (orig motor) black interior/ top. The ladies husband committed suicide a couple of months ago and this was her car. She needed money so i bought it. I didnt want someone to buy it and flip it or it go anywhere else. I feel like i owe her the respect of restoring it (she cried when i picked it up). Ive already restored a pp1 68 road runner so if i do it people are gonna think its just the same car. The rarety of the color dictates it back r4. Im thinking of selling my 68 once i get started on it. What would you guys do? Cant or wont flip it. No one to answer too if i sell the 68, i really like the white interior in the 68 vs black in the 69. What to do? Hmmm

Once the car is restored, you really don't owe her anything at that point
Be selective and find it a loving home
Then everyone should be happy

I wouldn't worry about what the widow wants. Most likely she's already forgetting about this car. Make it into the car you want it to be. I would bet dollars to donuts if she ever does see it again she'll say "I'm sure that's what he would have done to it if he had the time/money/will/etc."

i was thinking restore it like it is supposed to be including vinyl top, that way it would look different to my 68 and keep it. im not as much worried about her as everyone else in our circle of friends. i own a body shop here in savannah and i know alot of people in the car world around here. BTW no he didnt kill himself in the car but that was a very astute question. lol i also thought about keeping both but i just restored a 69 camaro for my wife and i cant afford any more insurance.

How many people do you know that own 2 Road Runners? If you start needing money, you can always sell one or both very quickly and for a premium depending on condition.

Agree with a couple guys here that said; restore it then decide. I had a similar situation with the '69 Formula S barracuda I bought in the spring. Husbands car, He passed, she cried when we picked it up. I've kept in touch. It will go back to factory orig. as it is a numbers matching, oig. interior car. If I need to liquidate; it will be one of the others.

I don't want to sound mean but my thinking is, I owe her/her late husband less than preserving a small piece of American Iron for kids to see/enjoy.

lol if you only gave her 2500 (and by the looks of the house she NEEDED money) for that car why would you grow a conscience on flipping it? :eusa_angel:

I have enjoyed working my car deals and doing okay on profits and not feeling bad about it. My friends call me "MeRuvURongTime Motors" ....but when I bought the Caddy.... she is 92 and I think I paid way more than it is worth because of her situation. Guess I proved I wasn't heartless after all. LOL.
