Golden Goddess heart surgery

I don’t think I’ve had a car that didn’t have a little shake m, I’m not looking for absolutely silky smooth perfection, our roads are too trashed to benefit, just trying to lower it down to a more acceptable level

Im afraid to jinx it, but maybe it’s fixed. Maybe it needed burnouts after all, today the tires were a little low so I aired them up, drove it to my buddies house and back, didn’t really feel any bad vibrations. Guess it was pinion angle and flat spots after all

Mineral Wells. The town was built on high mineral content water they thought had magical healing powers, they called it “Crazy Water”. Little play on words:lol:

There’s so much cool history in mineral wells, it would take a lot of typing, it’s worth researching

And they think their water is worth more than gold!

I found a guy on eBay that makes 3-d printed gauge pods that take the place of the ash tray on. Currently I have an afr gauge just zip tied there, and I’m trying to clean up everything. Looks like a nice piece, came with 6 pages of instructions that are very detailed. I just need to make it look less 3d printed

It took a little time because the instructions didn’t say anything about removing the 8 track player:lol:

The afr gauge kinda ruins the nostalgia look, but it’s a good enough tool for engine management I don’t mind

The Goddess has been very good lately, I’ve been working pretty hard on it, so today we’re just kinda playing around. She needs her gas gauge fixed, she needs the tubular uca installed and she needs a good alignment…..but screw it, I just want to work on easy things that don’t risk taking a while so I can keep her running and enjoy her for a while

I’ve also had this Stars and Stripes kit for the tach sitting around, I figured why not put it on today

It’s based off the Dixco Don Garlits special tach. They’re crazy rare and expensive, but someone sells the sticker kit on eBay, you just have paint a little blue.

Well I guess that’s it today. I finished off the day rewire my volt gauge light, idk how it got unwired in the first place. And I finally got around to making the vacuum gauge light work. I just wish all the light bulbs were the same color

I know some of you may be going, well golly that’s a nifty gauge pod…but it gets rid of the cigarette lighter. What do
I do about lighting a cigarette, plugging in a tv, or charging, or any other 12volt stuff?

Well for me the solution is simple, I have a repop center console so no real value there. I bought a usb port off Amazon, drilled a hole, added some wire, and presto. I also don’t have the latch for the console lid so I can snake the cord up there. As a bonus, the light that’s suppose to hook up to the automatic shifter indicator, I just repurposed it because I don’t have an automatic

I was going to try to wait until wheel Wednesday……but I couldn’t. Behold the new wheels, Uncle Sam was nice to me this year, and she’s been good so I wanted to treat her.

Is it just me, or do some of the lug holes look wollered out? I personally wouldn’t run those because they’re uni-lug, but that’s just me. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of your shake doesn’t come from the wheels.
Travis..

No they’re all fine, the shake is gone, unilugs are fine. It’s just like the bullshit with air shocks killing you. It’s all fine

I’ve never heard of air shocks killing people, I’ve run them myself. I just think uni-lugs are sketchy crap, personal opinion, carry on.
Travis..

Well the wheel shake saga continues, but I might have solved it. I drove it Wednesday and everything was fine except between 2 red lights. I was looking at the brakes last night and I think I didn’t have my driver caliper on right, which would explain the randomness.

But I still took her into the tire shop because I know discount touched them last, and my experience with them has been poor, so might as well eliminate that variable.

If you’re in or around Mineral wells, Double H tires is the place to go

I now have the tube, hopefully tomorrow or this weekend I can get it installed, and if I’m lucky I’ll have a working gas gauge
