Golden Goddess heart surgery

Looking great! Agree with Black Sheep, you can feather out the area under the chrome trim, mask that off and spray in some gold. Check your local automotive paint supplier, some dealers can custom mix factory colors including Spanish Gold into rattle can…enjoying watching your progress!

I ran out of big tape, but that’s the concept

I didn’t know what to expect, but I didn’t think it was going to be an all day affair for 1 side, but it was a typical august day so I should have expected it.

I didn’t know how to end it, I thought this would look good but it looks blocky, but I’ll sand it down as part of my weathering. As Bob Ross says, no mistakes just happy accidents

That’s what I was trying to do, hmm why couldn’t I come up with that yesterday

Anyway, back at it. Tape, spray, move, tape spray move. I like doing the fish scales better because I can get a little test shot off to the side, it’s not like the endless lines that’s kinda one and done

Well, this part is done, it turned out better then the other side and better then I could imagine. @Chongo 68 thanks for the inspiration!

Now I’ve got tape residue everywhere I got to take care of, and unfortunately I have to “weather” the roof a little bit. But I’m hot, tired, and a little hungry

Whooo, busy day. I wanted to get as much paint done today so I could get on with the next steps.

Roof paint and air brush done!

Touch up done!

Hood scoops done!

Scoop insert done!

Bonus, front wheels repainted because it they were looking a little sad.

I know, high tech paint booth and parts holders just in case y’all thought I was joking about this being a backyard job

It’s absolutely nuts to take sand paper to paint, but that’s what I did. I had to hide a few mistakes, I kinda might have went a little far with the weathering. My fault for not knowing what I’m doing so I’ll have to accept. And I wet sanded all the over spray off. 800-1500, now I got to buff it.

Yes, painted them black, was about to put the lace on and went……why not try this. A week away from a 200 mile road trip and I’m playing with paint! It’s keeping me from being tempted to do burn outs and potentially break the car.

Does anyone know what size screws hold the inner piece to the scoop? I’m guessing #8. Mine were rusted and stripped out, definitely can’t put rusty stripped out screws back in
