Well that's too bad. I never found him insulting but I didn't see all his posts, including the one that apparently did him in. I have no idea what happened. Best of luck to you Dawg!

I saw it...:argue:......:argue:......:pain10:....:mad_6::rant5:....:frustrated::gah:.....:eek:hthedrama:..:urkidding::yes_no::bs_flag::ban:..:urkidding:

since this thread is going to get pulled anyways...

:bs_flag:

Dave added more to this forum than not. sure he's a bit rough, but that's how the man is.

he's going to be missed. he was definitely an asset to this forum.

I agree marpar... but in the end he really didnt care about being part of the site.

hmmm....i dont think i can agree with that 99, if he didn't, he wouldn't have jumped in and helped so many people. dont get me wrong, his delivery wasn't always the greatest, but i know he meant well.

"The Henderson's will all be there late of Pablo Fanques'fair, what a scene." And what a scene he was! Gotta love the Dawwwwwwwwwwgggggggg!

Why do the things that get you kicked? I dont care that he was gruff or needed to be put in his place once in a while. I actually liked him for the most part but he knew his next ban would be a long one if not permanent and didnt care is what I am saying.
He forced it and knew he was doing it. That to me is someone who doesnt care anymore. Maybe I'm wrong but if he wanted to continue on the site I honestly believe he would still be here. Thats all I will say.

well I've only known him a short time but he was definitely entertaining on the forum. I had the opp to speak with him during the "Ought 13 post of the 440-6 deal that wasn't to be, for me anyway" and i'll miss him and his contribution. BTW your post made me a little nervous when i first saw the subject.

good luck to you Tpodwdog

This isnt necessarily aimed towards you stuart but its a two way street, dont act like all of the mods are cloaked in innocence. I would love to reference this with examples but surprisingly those posts have disappeared.

Dog received a message he was banned forever, ridiculous as Obama mandating black boxes in all new cars starting in 2014.

is the highlighted and actual fact? if so what's to stop them retrofitting them to all cars? I recall a lot of talk last year about insurance companies doing that to measure and record driving habits and using the data to set rates. Haven't heard much about that lately but assume they would be for the same thing.

I have never had a problem with anyone here but if someone spoke to me like he spoke to Alleyoop I would be tempted to get on a plane and see if they would speak to me like that to my face. Sure mods aint perfect but the more you antagonize them the worse its gonna get.I also enjoyed his posts but I wouldnt put up with his tirade either. Its not like there are that many rules.

Too, bad. I kinda liked him, too.

We all have differing opinions.

...and mods certianly do have a somewhat thankless job.

It sure could get squirelly and/or become a mighty unfriendly place without them.

Yea theres been a few articles about it, supposedly most new cars are already equipped with the technology, but it will be required for all new cars starting in 2014 if obama has his way. They claim it is for "accident" cause purposes only, but its def a violation of our rights since we all know these devices can do more than they say they do.

Anything that has "Onstar" or any type of OBD II (from 96 to now), that has keyless entry is capable of being satellite controlled. It will eventually get to where your o2 sensor fails, pops the check engine light on and you'll have a warning on the dash that your car will automatically cut off in X number of miles because it is polluting. If they can bounce a signal off a satellite to unlock your doors, they can cut that bitch off just as easily. Think Lojack.

if anyone has any contact info for the dog,pm me thanks !

Sorry, but this pre-dates Obama.

IIRC it was circa 2005 or so that the "black box" technology was pretty much standardized across the board.

After a crash recovery, what they do is see how fast you were going, if you were wearing your seat belt, and whether or not the brakes were applied and what direction the stering wheel was pointed, etc.

Having on-star or a similar service theoretically means that info can be accessed remotely, and in real time.

if I can help it, I'll never buy a vehicle newer than my 2000 Dakota.

Sorry, your 2000 Dakota is right there with them. ANYTHING OBDII compliant you can scan the history on. We do it all the time.

Can I look at my own with my Scan Guage II?

Mind giving a step by step?
