Sometimes we all get offensive or down right rude to each other but in a world like ours we forget that a knowledgeable person around to help is always greatly appreciated and welcome but dont do them in cause you don't like how they speek or what they say man up brush it off move your *** on with your day and don't be a baby about it life goes on no matter what so build that pos you think is gold and enjoy it like those of us do that can't afford to go buy a gold trailer queen we make it a hobby not a business as others do. Yes, I think the staff has been more than forgiving by letting this thread stay open so we can all vent and give our opinions. On top of that, we were even given a blow by blow description of what went down, even though no one HAD to do that. So my hat's off to the staff. They have rules to enforce and they did what they felt they had to do. I will miss dog. He was a wealth of knowledge and humor. IMHO, I think this thread should be locked because we've pretty much spoken our peace and been civil with it thus far. I'd hate to see that change.
 
I'll just say that I vehemently oppose anyone getting banned. I gave up most of the best years of my adult life in service to this country, and defending a lot of freedoms including the freedom of speech, and it offends me to no end when I hear of moderators banning people. Makes me wonder if everything I and a lot of others had to give up to pick up the check for protecting those freedoms was actually worth the cost when you consider how frivolously some people can take them away. Last I checked the Constitution, there was no protections for civil discourse or freedom from insult by internet moderators.

You can paste whatever happy face you want over it, or create any justification you like, but anytime anyone, government or civil, impedes on another person's freedom of speech, it's a real insult and slap in the face to everyone who's sacrificed to keep that freedom around.

Bruz, generally speaking I agree and if you have read any of my post in the forbidden forum you know that. However, this is a private entity. And as such, their sandbox, their rules. It's really no different than when you were in the military. You couldn't say whatever you wanted to your superior officers without repercussions. Similarly, for those in the private sector they can't just say whatever they feel like to their bosses and expect to keep their jobs.

In fact, try going into any court of law in this country, the protectors of rights, and pop off at the judge and see how fast you get slapped with a contempt of court.

I understand where you are coming from, and i thank you for your service, but the reality is the moderators and staff are not bound by, nor did they take an oath to uphold and defend, the constitution.
Rules are rules. Owner of the site set them.
As far as the other thing, what i saw unfold left me with mixed emotions. Part of me sympathizes with one side and thr other part of me with the other side. There is no doubt he should have let it go, but he felt like he had a target on his back and some were out to get him. He had been banned three times because he was offending someone or group of people. As harmelss or stupid as those PA jokes may have been, maybe he found them offensive. Funny, someone finds him offensive and he gets banned. He gets offended and he gets banned. Just sayin.
And he took it personal because he felt alley was out to get him. And after seeing your response to his response i cant say i blame the guy. That whole deal could have been handled better imho. But i understand that you, alley, had had it up to the ceiling with him and because of that your reaction was what it was. I have no idea what was said in pm's, bt im sure it justifies his being banned. The whole thing stinks to high heaven. Just my .02 cents

If someone types to me "just a matter of time before you are banned" damn straight im going to go down swinging. Dawg was baited, he took the bait, swallowed the hook, spit it all back up and ate it again.

Dave was no angel but its pretty obvious "somebody" wanted him gone and it finally happened.

I read all this chit. All I can say is this place is like a bar. If you constantly pick fights youre gonna get kicked out at first. If that dont work you will get barred. Just like a bar the proprieters her dont care who your friends are. Anyone that dont understand this feel free to pm me. There you can cuss and piss and moan all you want and I will return the favor. But we dont need it on the board.Simple enough?

Well, Bru- as others have said, it is a private entity so they can set their own rules. You could always start another Mopar board that vehemently adheres to the Constitution... or you perception of the Constitution... now if you'll excuse me, I have to paste happy faces all over the rest of my post about what happened to the Dog...
