Rusty,just by reading your post tells me you are a really cool guy that apparently got caught up in something emotional.We are all car guys and do our own thing but sometimes we let it get the best of us....it happens.Just by the things you have written about yourself proves you are the better man,and I for one are glad you are still on this forum.I always look forward to your input on questions asked on here....just saying
 
I hope this comes across the right way... I'm not placing any blame on anyone... IMHFO well after reading the posts, that were the final straw for Dawg, posted link by Alleyoop, "it was like a stupid & petty child's pissing contest, the only thing that was accomplished, is they both parties got covered in piss"... Both sides said things that were totally uncalled for, even if it started out as a joke, maybe just even an apology for offending someone, from both/either sides, would have gone a long way, sometimes you just have to be a leader, set an example & be the better man... I feel dumber, just reading it now... my $0.02 cent

and if it had not been a reoccuring thing as of late he would still be here , But as you say it was the final straw .
He would most likely just melt down again anyway , he has a problem with authority and just would not dial it back . He knew it too because most everytime he would post something that would get him in trouble . He would preface it with I know this will get me in trouble or a vacation but i'm going to do it anyway .

I saw that too a few times also... I'm sure there are maybe other reasons in PM's too, that we don't need to know about, kind of like airing your dirty laundry so to speak!!... Here's an example of working it out; A Mod was censoring/deleting a few of my posts, at one time, I've never had any issue with any other Mod ever, I absolutely do respect what you guys have to deal with, especially with a bunch of people all with different backgrounds, views, morals, ideologies & upbringings, especially in the political forum, some on the general forum that isn't supposed to be political... The Mod, self admitted that he did it, with out reading the other persons posts/threads, that I was responding to, I don't really know why, but in a respectfully well worded debate/discussion, commenting on or about & that "he couldn't read every post/thread", but obviously was singling out, reading censoring/or deleting mine... Another time was the same person & same Mod, I was completely wrong & I threw a few F-Booms at a member who was obviously provoking/baiting or antagonizing other members/people into an altercation/argument {he still does it allot, I hope he is looked at/warned too}, spreading a bunch of BS/Lies & I wanted to set the story straight... I got way too emotional, let it all hang out, fired both barrels at the other member, caution be damned, I didn't really care at the time & I got warned & penalty points for the infraction too, that I totally earned/desreved it too... I toned it down after that, but he was just censoring/deleting my threads/post & not the other party/member, is what I didn't like & I respectfully told him so... But it was all good now thou & we worked things out, we PMed each other a few times, very civil between each other, he understood were I was coming from, I understand were he's coming from & suggested maybe someone else should be the Mod for the political forum, since he thought it was "like watching paint dry or grass grow, having to read any of the political forums posts/theads"... I told him I would tone it down some too, gave him my apologies, out of respect for his opinions/authority position & respect for the rules of Joey's great FBBO forum.... It can be worked out civilly, is my long winded point... it's always a two way street & not just one sided either... y'all have a nice day now, ya hear !!
 
I guess lucky for me that when it warms up I can still see him at the local shows hair in tow

WWWWWOOOOWWWWW!!!!! Simply? I have no words to offer support here. The Dawg and I were able to solidly work through our differences a while back. Thanks to Alleyoop for moderating that one. It actually turned out for the better. Dawg is a brash, no holds bared, stand your ground kind of person. I saw that quite a bit here recently. It finally caught up to him though and now it is done. I personally will miss his encouragement and support when it came to my 66 Ply Sat build. Actually kept me plugging away at it until that day a few weeks ago when I got it "FIRED UP". But as rough around the edges as he is, I honestly have to say that if there ever was a need when it came to our beloved B Body Cars, he was spot on in his wealth of knowledge and talent. That is what I will miss the most. Just a really sad epitaph is all...cr8crshr/Tuck

Well I figure I had the Pa. Jokes thread up for about 24 hours, I suppose everyone that was interested took a look at it. I put it back into the trash where it belongs.

The one thing I learned from all of this is, when your a Moderator on a website such as this, you have to have thick skin, you can't EVER show your feelings, and lastly you can't please everyone all the time! Oh well, life goes on........................

I wasn't going to post this when I saw this thread but after reading all this I figure I might as well throw in my 2 cents...

Dawg must have been having a really bad weekend the weekend he got banned. I will explain what I mean by that in a minute. But before I do I want to preface what I am about to say with I agree with the sentiments that he was indeed a productive, helpful and informative member of this site. Generally speaking... I had had a few run ins with him in the political forum a time or two. Which anyone who spends time over there knows that happens when people are passionate about their opinions. Hence, "have a thick skin". And that forum isn't for everyone....I get that.

But as I told dawg on several occasions in several threads...he would do well to just ignore the political forum because his comments were sometimes completely off the mark and sometimes wildly irrelevant to the topic designed to solicit a comeback response to whomever he decided to attack so he could start a fight. I witnessed that on more than one occasion...and not just with me but others as well. His contributions elsewhere on this site, as I told him, were always very good and relevant but in certain forums, Political/Joke etc... he was a troll plain and simple. I understand being passionate about political views, but that joke thread....come on. It just further illustrates my point that when not focused on the cars he would lose it way too easily. Very thin skinned if you ask me.

So anyway, back to that weekend, I had posted a thread about Philadelphia and their recent property tax increases. I called the city Filthydelphia, which for anyone who has spent time there knows that is a fair assessment. He came into that thread accusing me of being racist when not ONE racist thing was said. So I fired back at him to tell me where he was getting racist from anything I said....which led to the biggest narcissistic, self aggrandizement PM you could possibly imagine. Telling me how important he was to this site and how great he was and blah, blah (I will spare you the details.) I was completely embarrassed for him at that point, and any respect I had for him was completely lost. Clearly he had issues with anything insulting any part of Pennsylvania which is evident by my experience and the whole joke thread. And when it came to that he obviously just could not contain himself and went completely off the rails.

Again, don't get me wrong, like I told him when we would get into it....I thought his contributions to the car part of the site were very good and usually spot on. But outside of that, he had some real issues. Personally, I will miss his contributions regardless of our differences. But it is what it is and I get that.
 
Well seeing as I just got around to reading this whole thing I think in my opinion (what this board is for). The way in conducting ones self is in thyself I'm very much like dawg in that I voice my opinion like it or leave it.
If I offend you oh well don't ask for someone else's advice or opinion this being said I know ill get in trouble but I also don't care since that's who I am ill tell you how it is but don't mean I won't face to face I'm man enough to back up my opinion as it is. The people my words offend are being simple minded you are an adult act like it if the mods don't like the choice of wording well delete it as they have but don't preach like your hollyer then thou when you yourselves offend as well but your not reprimanded for that which you say swareing and such. I know Dave personally and as I've said a million times those of you whom know me I don't hold back I speak as I have grown up and been thought be honest be truthfull and if your belief isn't that of others stand fast in your belief.
Sometimes we all get offensive or down right rude to each other but in a world like ours we forget that a knowledgeable person around to help is always greatly appreciated and welcome but dont do them in cause you don't like how they speek or what they say man up brush it off move your *** on with your day and don't be a baby about it life goes on no matter what so build that pos you think is gold and enjoy it like those of us do that can't afford to go buy a gold trailer queen we make it a hobby not a business as others do. This worl is changing but I'm not going to for you you you or even you stop criticizing us for being honest (brutally honest) so I raise my bottle in the air this is to you Dave SALUTE SALUTE SALUTE drinking down my crown mopars are not for the timid we are ruff and tumble and if we weren't we would all just have junk in or yard not the mopar pile we call our car I own a chevy it is not a dodge but not gonna get rid of it for anyone so get over it I drive my monte ss and my sierra and get great mileage ha ha but still love the mopars get over yourselves and stop whining about what you think happened. And it was a lingering problem the whole time. Like it was stated before, he had numerous chances on this board since 2-2012.

Every run in I've had with him, I've been cordial. Explaining to him what the problem was, and how to rectify the problem so he could continue to be a member of this forum. Again, I don't make up the rules of the site, the owner does. Most of you members don't know all the history of tdog and the Mods, besides us Mods. Put it this way, he can send some pretty "colorful" pm's when he hears something he didn't want to hear.

Was he a knowledgeable member, Yes he was.

What happened last Saturday night was about all I had left. I came to my breaking point, I'm I proud of it? No, not at all. Could I have handled it differently? Probably, but I have been taking the high road for a long time.

My only defense is, I'm human just like all of you, and I had reached my limit with him.

"5wndwcpe"is a member on this board that posted a bunch of Wisconsin jokes. All in good fun. Well I posted a bunch of Pennsylvania jokes, because "5wndwcpe" is from Pennsylvania. I was not thinking if tdog at all.
