Well I thought I might finally do an update here now that I have some time. I’ve been working on the car pretty much nonstop through last weekend. There is a nice car show here in Santa Barbara that I was determined to get the car ready for. Aside from the headliner, windshield install, paint job and seat covers I’ve done it all myself.
Here are some of the things I’ve done recently:
Floor has been sound deadened:
Everything under the dash was restored and installed:
Steering column painted and assembled:
Headliner installed
Windows installed:
Windshield and rear window in:
Carpet, door panels, package tray, window trim and back seat in place:
Dash installed with gauges and other wiring installed:
Chrome and stainless installed:
Wheelwells detailed and spash shields restored with paint and new weatherstripping.
Girlfriend helping bleed brakes:
Sorta stock looking battery from the local parts pit
First sign of life:
Car getting it’s CHP inspection for California licensing (it was from Kansas)
Sunvisors, door sills, and dash bezel restored and installed:
Interior complete:
Front end details and final install:
Front torsion bars have given up:
New 9.60 Hemi mopar performance bars installed:
Pretty much complete:
Chrome and stainless polished out:
May 16th, first car show:
So it’s mainly done for now, but of course there are other things that I will be improving, detailing and changing.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures and descriptions!
