I had some spare time yesterday so I jetted and bolted the 950 on my 63. I jetted it the same as I had in my 850 which was 83's and 91's with a 4.5 P/V. I had jetted the primary down a little on the 850 to clean up my cruise circuit a little. Well I tell you this Proform runs Great ! After I adjusted it I have a nice good clean idle and this thing has great throttle response. It drives around and runs as good as the 850 did so in about a week and a half I hope to see how it works at the track. Ron

Ron, Your car is ABSOLUTELY GREAT !

I hope you see some gains too...
Keep US posted...

I've always been a Quckfuel guy myself,
but know quite a few people that love the Proform stuff too,
all had relatively good success too...
Over the equivalent a std. Holley {the newer HP's are pretty good}
& especially over a Carter/Edlebrock/Weber

Most of the proform stuff is actually casted by QFT. My new proform main body has QFT actually cast right into it.

Thanks for the replies all. Myself I like any carb thats free for me to try and may be bigger or better then whats on my car now. I have another friend who just told me he has a Dominator he will lend me. My problem is with the 850 and a 1" phenolic spacer I have about maybe a 1/4" of room before the carb stud and air cleaner hit the bottom of the scoop. So I would need to get an adapter to go from the 4150 base to the Dominator no taller then 1" at the most. I dont know if they even make an adapter that short from the 4150 to a Dominator bolt pattern. And if the spacer is not wooden or phenolic I would only just try the Dominator at the track because since I drive on the street and run pump gas I need the phenolic or wooden spacer to help keep heat away from the fuel in the carb bowls since this pump gas boils at 190 degrees. The phenoilic or wooden spacer make a huge difference when driving in hot weather on pump gas. Ron

Ron ,
I think Wilson Manifolds make the thinnest adapter , whooo pricey though

Thanks Tex. I know a couple guys on Moparts asked me why I insist on trying this 950 ProForm carb since the venturies are actually smaller then my 850 ones are. Well I told them I dont insist on trying it but I got it for free so why not try it. It also has no airhorn as the 850 has the choke housing airhorn so that may help the 950 some and maybe it will 60 ft better on this 950. Or maybe it will go slower but its only one way to find out.
