I plan to put some Performer RPM heads on my 69 RR, 440 6 pack car. Can someone recommend a good header to use with these heads? The angle plugs can hit the header pipes on some brands. I want something that fits good. Thanks.

It has Hooker Super Competition Headers on it now, along with ported 906 heads. The car runs 12.90 at 105 MPH with this head/header combo. The 906 Heads and Hooker headers will be for sale in the near future.

Hi Gary, I run the Eddy RPM heads on my 440/493. TTI 440-200. There 2" primary 3 1/2" collector no fitment issues great header. If your running and automatic with kickdown linkage you have to modify the lower bell crank and rod no biggie , and if your running a console shifter you need to cut and reweld the tourqe shaft bracket. best headers out there for Mopar in my opinion. I'm also running 3" x-pipe TTI exhaust to the bumper. Good Luck

It is my understanding that Summit brand headers (Patriot) work well with angle plug heads on B-bodies. If money is an option they can be bought with ceramic coating for $392.00 shipping included. They are 1 7/8 primary tubes.

My '66 Satellite has TTI 2" with EDE RPM heads. They fit good. Spark plug access is OK once you figure out the procedure & have the correct length sockets

I've heard many say that the SC's are junk but mine lasted for 15 years on a 340 Cuda and they were on it when I bought the car. The guy I got the car from really didn't know how long they were on it so who knows how many years they were in service....

I didn't realize the Super Comps fit the angle plug Eddy heads. Thanks for the good info, and all your replies. Maybe just a good paint job on these headers will be all I need. I'll let you know how the head and header change works out.

I haven't put it together yet but I asked the same question, I have RPMs & my headers are Dougs 2" and all the replies. I receive were that they worked very well ....
Some reason I think it was Propwash had commented on them before as well...

Well, I will be doing a trial assembly of the header to the head while it's sitting on the bench. Then I can see where I will need header bolts, and possibly studs in a couple spots. I like to use studs on each end of the head. This holds the gasket and header in the correct position while putting in the header bolts. Makes it alot easier. And of course, I will put the spark plugs in for a trial fitting at that time. I really hate surprises after I have bolted the heads on! I am glad to know these Hooker Super Comps work well with the Eddys!

I have the super comps on my 440 with the eddy heads, we had to dent a few tubes to access the spark plugs and to keep the wires from burning, which is a big problem until I installed the little boots on them and the porcelain wires from accel.

IMO I would use the tti headers, I have heard lots of good things about the fit.

The super comps were great on the iron heads but not with the eddy's until massaged.

Yes! I bought the Jegs brand (They are Patriot's) ceramic coated headers for about $350. Assembled in Mexico! They fit nicely, and I only had to make a small dent in the #2 pipe so that the #4 plug boot would clear it better. I also used Accel 414S shorty spark plugs on 2, 4 and 6 cyls for additional clearance.

Hey Gary did the Super Comps work with your edelbrock heads or were you forced to buy the patriot/TTI because of fitment?

How are the patriots holding up?

The Jegs/Patriots worked great! I only had to dimple in the #2 ex pipe to give more clearance for the #4 spark plug boot. They are holding up just fine. It sits in the garage most of the time, we've only taken it to the track once this year so far. I put the same header on my other RR, and they never leaked or cracked. And I drove it around alot more than I have this one.

When I was looking for headers, it was a toss up between TTi and Doug's on my engine, went with Doug's in the end. I'm also using Remflex gaskets on them.

YKF7B0 do you know of anyone using patriot headers with angle plug heads such as Edlebrock RPM's, Indy, Trick flows etc. I've got Patriot headers on my stock mopar heads (440 mag, 4 sp, 3.55 posi) but looking to update in the spring with a roller rocker cam and new heads. I'm worried about the plugs having clearance issues with the headers. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. ---------- Mark.

I have the Summit brand headers (made by Patriot) and Trick Flow heads. You’ll need to dimple the #2 & #8 tubes for clearance. All others have plenty of room.
