This is very subjective, but one of the things that I find unattractive about B body engine compartments is the bulky, saggy, miles-long hoses going from the wp housing to heater core.

I've been kicking around running hard lines in some fashion, but haven't come up w/ a specific plan.

Any of you guys seen anything done that cleans 'em up? Pics?

engine flexes on the mounts...you won't be able to "hard line" the entire run, if you do, it will break the lines, the heater core, or both

Just use the hose, dress up kit, or the metal flex hoses with the colorful connectors.

My thought was one of the following ideas:

1 - Run hard lines, nicely tucked to the walls, then 90 degree - then run hoses ( or nice lines ) from there to the engine to accommodate engine flexing . . .

2 - Run hoses ( or nice lines ) to connectors in the wall ( at the water pump area ) - then run the rest of it in the wheel wells out of sight . . .

Still thinking about it . . . not there yet . . .

I used the 90* pre-formed hoses on mine that go to water pump...a much neater hose routing

of course, I don't have any pics

How about under the manifold??

On the cars with rear air and I had caddy fleet wood that had steel conduit down the frame rails like a brake line..... so a stainless 5/8 hydrologic line form fitted in the lip behind the inner fender coming out of holes just above the frame rail and clamped down like a auto trans dip tube and sticking out an inch or so with a few hold downs to keep it in place with heater hose between the heater nipples and engine it would disappear under the washer bottle and 're appear by the blower motor as long as it flexible from the motor to the fender and on th core for service tucked up under the shoulder I have seen pics of engine bays with no wires and hoses showing so it is out there.... runing hard line from the pump and block off 90° elbows to hard line by the fuel pump picking up a bolt for support then flex to nipples coming from above the frame rail below the washer to hard line down the upper fender and up then 90° to flex to the core if you have some steel hydraulic line and a bender hydrologic line might be over kill but it needs to be welded and formed a bit.... the only place to hide it

Under the manifold is good 2 and there may be a way to thread a freeze plug and have it dump back into the system some how from behind

I always wanted to relocate my radiator to the trunk floor and make the side scoops on a super b function dumping the air out the back sealing off the engine bay from the hood to the fire wall Baja style .... but that was years ago many projects ago

I did that on my 71 Ranchero. Came out OK and really cleaned it up. I won't take credit on the rest of the engine compartment detailing (was like that when I got it) but had I kept the car that would have been fixed as well.
