I’m looking for some information on proper installation of an ATI Super Damper on a 6.4 Hemi using the Holley Mid Mount Accessory kit and I’m hoping someone on here can help me out.

Here’s my situation - I found the damper install instructions sent with the kit to be more geared towards LS engines.

Questions - If I’m not running forced induction do I need to install a key at the 12 o’clock position on my crank shaft after finding top dead center?

- The OEM balancer has a flange that seats on the crank seal but the ATI damper hub does not. Is it supposed to seal to the ATI hub shaft?

There are no videos on YouTube and very little info out there for Holley kit with VVT ATI damper install.

Any info, pictures or videos you can share would be greatly appreciated.

I am at home, and cannot look up the specs, but like the LS, if the Hemi is internally balanced and the OEM balancer is not keyed, it does not matter especially if you are going NA. There are pin drilling fixture kits for the LS, so I would assume there would be for the Hemi also. You drill a round hole and install a pin to lock it. As far as the dust shield, these balancers are for HP and racing, so don't require a shield like a stock daily driver in rain etc... Hope this helps.

I am sure you don't want to hear it but have you tried to call them? I have called them on several occasions and found them to be pretty helpful. Emailing their tech line will get you an answer but it takes a long time. Posting on their forum is a good route as well.

Calling them is good advice. And all opinions and advice are appreciated. It was fairly late in the evening when I got to the damper install so I couldnt really call. My anxiety peaked so I thought I’d ask the helpful folks on this form in the meantime.

Definitely helps, I saw the videos of drilling the pins but they were all builds for forced induction. I’ll see if I can remove the dust shield off the stock damper and if it’s the same dimensions retro fit it on the new hub if there’s no interference.

Thanks.

Update …. With the pulley installed everything lined up as it should. I filled the key way with RTV silicone as per the instructions then torqued the crank bolt to 129 ft/lbs.
