So I recently installed a security camera system in my house and figured I would share it with all of you. :realcrazy:
If you are looking for something easy to install and no monthly charges this might be worth looking into.
This system was just under 300 and comes with everything you need to start, plug and play. Just run the wires where you want the camera's to be. I did not go with wireless, just don't trust the wireless feed to work all the time. Hard wired, it's always on.
The system I purchased came with everything listed below with the capabilities of adding more.
4 camera's with 60 foot cables and ability to have 8 camera's.
1TB hard drive with available upgrade of 4TB.
Can set recording to motion only and get alerts to your devices, record 24 hours, or both or a scheduled time.
Day and night vision up to 100 ft.
Wide angle view, 100°.
Play back right from the hard drive and i believe your phone. Have not tried that yet.
Take still shots.
Zoom in and out at home or on your phone.
It's good for indoors or out doors and so on.
I'm still learning the system but for what I wanted/needed it's working good for me.
Here is a two shots from what is displayed on my monitor.

I have hi resolution cameras all over my property and its a very good deterrent. The one thing you might consider is a "Smile your on camera " sign. I like the fact that if I'm not home we can monitor the house and its great if there is a package delivered as i can call one of my neighbors. The other devise I'm looking into is this rind doorbell camera.

I use R & R : Remington & Ruger. The cameras may interfere as evidence...

That'll work if you're home. :D

I plan to install a similar system to @PlagueOfBadgers , except the system I will use also has an app to your phone to get direct contact through the home network system. Comes with 4 dome cameras, and optional up to 8 cameras. Instant notification on your phone of any activity in the Zones.
My house alarm has the same features and is from the same company here. Works well, I have had a few alerts, and am able to get straight into my panel via the phone and see what was activated.

I have a 300-foot narrow driveway from a busy street. Steep banks and blackberries that lead to a swamp are my backyard on three sides. My front yard is a rental that can't be passed without being noticed.
It's not an easy place to scope out for someone looking for an easy mark with an escape.

That system have battery backup and alert in case power goes down?

Ruger fan???

Ya they’re not bad, mini 14 is a great rifle. The p95 I inherited and I sort of like it shoots real smooth but the trigger pull is LONGGGGGGGG, the exact reason I traded in my SR40C, Also it would jam every mag from the day I got it.

This system is hooked up to my home network and gives us alerts when a camera is triggered. On this system you can have up to three user's logged in at one time so my wife, son and myself have our phones hooked up to it. The only problem with this is, my wife is home all day so everytime she or the dogs are out back my phone does not stop digging. It will tell you what camera has been triggered and you can just click on the alert and see what's going on or rewind the recording to see what happen.

No that is one thing it does not have that I wish it came with. I could probably rig some kind of battery back up to it but I am looking into a whole house generator.

So here is a night time shot off my phone with all 4 camera's. No lights on outside of the house and no street lights on my road. A few more adjustments and a few more camera's and I will be happy with this system.

This is two pictures of my back yard and how dark it is and how well the system works.
This is facing the back yard towards the garage where the truck is parked.

It's pretty dark here but they do a good job lighting it up.

Security camera systems have come a LONG way in the last 20 years, and cost a LOT less too.

And as stated boom sticks are only good if your home! But I'm home 99% of my life and if not my noisy neighbors are always home and most of them grab guns before a phone!
