Hyrdgoon's - project angrybird

Sounds like inside yourself you have made up your mind and i have to agree with everyone here liking them... If we were closer and it wasn't CHRISTMAS i would be glad to talk about helping you with your 833, mine is a E-body and would love to put a original B-body in it, no matching numbers but more the way it should be... I wish you the best on it and im sure you will be happy with whatever the very final decision is... "Passon", Ummm, sometimes the name of things even with a car can boost the spirit! :)

Got that right Ron! I'm sure the 'bird will be enjoying plenty of time in the Pass'n lane lol

You could do what I did and just sell your current tranny like an idiot because I don't have a choice now, I either buy something or I don't drive it come Spring! Works wonders for your motivation haha, on second thought maybe that's not a good idea?

Truth be told we're having a very very mild winter here so far... barely any snow on the ground and plus 5 celcius here today

Question for y'all.... Is there any issue replacing my longass stalk bench seat shifter with this shorter column style pistol grip? I currently have a hurst side bolt I believe it's around 22" long. I fancy something like this under 12" http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/huu-5388575/overview/ Thoughts? Would my shifter boot be an issue? Throw interfered by the bench?

So far we have been spared pretty good, a couple three weeks ago we started and i thought we were in for one of those rough winters but, its not bad here! I probably will be sorry for saying it though... Spring right now seems so far away but, we will get there i guess, im glad i can at least work on one, makes the winter better but at the same time i would love to see my 73 waxed and ready to go to the lake or something, is it me, or is it easier to take winter when you read others post's and there locked in to lol? I hate to see anyone going thru some misery but it seems like its easier when you have the cold, wind and snow and we come in get a shower and to cheer ourselves up get on here and a few get on here yelling about the same stuff lol, heck, im not alone! as they say>>> :) BTW, Spring is just a....... away. Better not calculate :)

I'm just happy it's allowed for some nice enough days to get in the garage and do small things in the car. I agree having something to work on at least keeps an attachment there... Especially in previous years where I've stored it off site and essentially just forget about it till I receive a call and am told I can come pick it up.

Talking to Tallhair he filled me in there's a shifter right in the middle of the 11 and the 20" Although not correct for my period of car this might be something I would like better... again any thoughts on what my obstacles might be? http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/dcc-4510611/overview/

Not no shifter connoisseur, but I guess the only obstacle I can bring up is making sure you get the correct mounting configuration. AKA......Bolt through shaft vs. lock pin. Other than that, just a matter of making sure you get a shifter you're not punching the dash pad or trying to cut the seat in half.

Bruce Cliché has several different pistol grip shifters some with the rods etc. He has 4 like the first link and two longer ones with different lengths/bends. These are original equipment. Give him a call, u never know. 802-454-7875

Looking good! I hope to be at this point sometime in the next decade lol, Oh well, fun no matter what point were at! Great work....

Thanks Ghostrider, I say your Bruce C post and also have to commend you for helping out. Seems like he's got an absolutely amazing collection there! I'm specifically looking for a 71-74 non-console (14.5") pistol grip. I may just give him a call or if you're out there and happen to remember go ahead and inquire on my behalf.

Lol Ron you're making some good progress already! You'll be at this point before you know it and be one step better than me because you'll know every inch of your own car! Keep on Keepin' on!!

I'm all back together again but having trouble getting the retainer clips for the seat back to stay. Really happy with the job that was done on my seat it's nice and stiff now and definitely up a bit higher... since it was all I ever knew I didn't realize how bad it had become! Nice to have the taillight bezel back in place too so the last reminder of the Hyundai incident is out of my mind!

Also is my placement of the seatbelt wrong? Does it go outside the latch as I have it or inside the latch for the seat back?

I also took another good side profile pic of my shifter if you read above I'm debating some different options for shifter handles... I may even just go a cheap route for now and change the knob/handle to give me a different feel? especially since I'm thinking about a tranny swap anyways

I see what you mean about the shifter and I'd do just what your saying if your thinking about switching tranny's. I was never comfortable with the T handle shifters myself, feels more natural palming a ball shifter or grabbing a pistol grip to me especially on a standard.

Congrats on getting the tail light bezel all fixed up too.

Ya I'd just have to find a ball or pistol grip to decide on... I'm happily accepting suggestions! I should add that shifter position is all the way back in 2nd so that's as close to the bench as it gets.

What tranny swap Goon? 5 speed?

Not auto surely

The plan right now is Passon A-855 unless I happened upon a T56 for a good deal (but harder to come by here) I'm watching 747's thread in anticipation for total budget he's all in for the T56 swap but considering I'm already a stick car the ease of the Passon and zero mods really makes sense. The part that really sucks right now is our dollar **** the bed so that Passon is going to run me a pretty penny with exchange :(

These guys have some neat stuff http://www.duncan-motor-sports.com/prod02.htm
