I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

Ya'll say it's hot, think about our gang of guys & gals that were deployed to the desert with FULL GEAR!!! Army son did 2 Iraq & 1 Afgan, so when its "hot", I just think of them & the gang in the jungles of Vietnam. (no politics about the wars please!)
Oh yeah....thought about that kind of stuff many times and I'm thankful I didn't have to do it. For sure wouldn't be able to do it now. I remember how hot it was in San Antonio when in basic training and that was only during the month of May of 71!

33C here at Camp in Northeastern Ontario and no wind.

Nope... not going to work. Not today or tomorrow! Maybe in October.

Sometimes I wish that I liked beer. I could never tolerate the taste of it.

Only certain times for me. I might only drink 6 beers between October and May. Cocktails, that’s a different story.

first day back to work for me today , a bit of a fiasco. but it’s done . can only get better . had the whole summer ( if ya wanna call it summer) off , it’s a great schedule….

Re-reading my last post kinda suggests that maybe I have a problem

So you crack a new one open everytime the wife wants this or that done around the camp? JEEZE, you "FIRED" up by 8:30 am then??? Gonna need a dumpster for that empty stash!!!

JUST KIDDING!!

I’m counting remaining paychecks. Sounds better than years, months or weeks. 55 to go. I always say it just as important to be emotionally prepared as financially.

If you are the type that always needs to stay busy, retirement may take some time to adjust. Some people feel that they are defined by their profession and when the job ends, they have no purpose, no sense of self.
I was used to time off between jobs. I always had some car project to work on. Retirement has been like an extended break between job sites.

I am the sort that likes to stay busy and now that I'm retired I have freedom to enjoy the many projects that were put on hold while I prepared to enjoy independent freedom to play.

I've always done more work at home than I did at work and can take beer breaks whenever I want :D

My wife has always been driven to be busy, and her retirement six years ago initially drove her nuts. She finally found her balance, as a part time free lance writer (we both wrote professionally in our early years.) I have never had difficulty being a total slug, even though I often worked 90 hour weeks in my younger days. I think I'm still alive today, because I could totally shut down when I got the opportunity. I had no angst about hanging it up, a year ago this week. After decades of racing against the clock, not having to meet a schedule is all I need to be content.

The biggest challenge was to not be too slothful in plain sight. I save that for when Diane is at the gym, or interviewing another subject for her next article.

I for sure know how to take a break but sometimes it's a bit too long of one....like today lol. This heat is working on this 72-year-old and after spending too much time in it, just have to take that break.

Still retired and just got back from our Alaska cruise
