I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

Good Morning!!! What a great snooze. Just woke up refreshed and feeling chipper for an almost 70 year old. Haven't worked in 7 years since I retired from the USAF. Hated getting up at "O DARK 30" for a show time in one hour. Pre-flight the airplane on a freezing cold ramp while supervising the up load. Flying for 18 plus hours and jumping 4-5 tome zones. Hitting the crew rest and pound some booze to knock ya out and sleep like a tee'd up Golf Ball in a tile bathroom because your body clock is who knows where. Did that for 27.5 years in my 34.5 years of service. Payin' the price for it now but I would do it all over again in a New York Minute. Do I miss work? Do I hate getting up at UN-godly hours.? Do I miss the travel? Do I miss the USAF? Hell Yes to all the aforementioned. But I like not having to punish myself as I did and now dealing with those indiscretions of my youth and the tough life style it entails. But so Damn well worth it. Whewwwww!!! That just wore me out typing this. Think I'll stretch out and grab a nap. Retirement also has its perks...LOL...cr8crshr/Tuck:fool::fool::fool::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I just wish DFAS would cut the check they owe me for the last 9 months of retirement! Being a Veteran is more then enough to give a person ptsd!

I'll chime in again. Wife was off, but she works tonight and tomorrow night, 12 hr shifts at the V.A. as a RN (she's a Army and Air Force veteran too) and she will sleep during the day, so I hung out with her part of the day and didn't work much.
She's going to school online for her Nurse Practitioner's license...$$$
Makes her bullshit more palatable.:p
I added up my hours that I set for one client working mostly 4-5 hours a day over the last 2 weeks. $4k for about 39 hours.
Hard to complain about that...
Thank her for US too...
great work she's doing for our vets
& for her service to our great country

I am semi-retired and by that I mean I just work a 40 hr week no overtime, ever ha ha. I really envy my wife's grandfather still alive at 90 and works at his Insurance business he's owned for over 60 years every day! Other people pretty much run it but he's still coherent..

I have no idea what that is like.

It's pretty deep!

Although I really hit the jackpot as far as jobs are concerned, and there are those who have it easier and better than I, I really am doing better than I ever have.
As great an opportunity as my 1 man small business has been, if I didn't have to work, there are plenty of things I could do with the time.
The saying goes "Work is for people who don't fish" comes to mind. I look at my bass boat that I have gone speckled trout, redfish, and bass fishing in and wish that I could have used it for fishing in the last 3 years while it sat there instead...

I have no idea what that is like.
I take it you never served RC. Nothing at all wrong with that either. As Brother Jon posted up, that is our creed for all those flyers both Enlisted and Officer that experienced it along with the endless "Bag Drags." A unique Fraternity it is...cr8crshr/Tuck:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

Did I miss something? RC said he has no idea what it's like to Leisurely crawl out of bed, at 7:30-8:00am-ish???

Well I use to be up at 4:00am on many occasions
only in the past 10 or so years, I've had it "soft/pampered"
I've earned it...
UP Early am for more than 20 years,
I'd go & drive to the office (didn't always have it at home)
or to catch a plane, somewhere in the, 14 western states...

Even when I got home, my work was rarely done yet...
That part really sucks...
You ain't getting paid for that either...

I was a working boss, not just an owner/bystander...

I'd bet some weeks I'd log 80+hrs easily, between home & work related stuff...

I'd do some jobs, that had to be done after closing,
so after 10:00pm in most dealerships
or early & finish, before the service or parts dept. opened, 7:00am
or start after 5:00 when they closed
or really early access hr's on a few bases, I had contracted...

I've worn far more than 'just one hat' in my life/careers...

I learned to work smarter, not harder, more profitable...
I found a great niche', worked it, until it almost dried up...

IMO night work sucked, had to be really organized, think ahead...
But sometimes, you have to do, what you have to do...
I always got the job done & on time...

I think he was referring to what cr8crshr said in post 121.

I've done really hard, physical work over my lifetime. Benefit at the time was being in great physical shape. Now I have some serious pains from worn out parts.
"More brains-Less back" is my motto now.

Recalcitrant. I heard that word and it bugged me until I looked it up on google.

I'll take a shot without looking it up.
Obnoxious and uncooperative...
Now for a web search:
"Definition of recalcitrant. 1 : obstinately defiant of authority or restraint. 2a : difficult to manage or operate. b : not responsive to treatment."
Well..I'd say I was close.

I was thinking somebody who's an asshole, so I was pretty close too. lol

It was years later when I realized that he changed from the black suit to the white one in an instant for the song.
