I got a lifter problem...I think?

Well, all i know is that it runs great now, i haven't noticed anymore valvetrain related issues since i got them pumped back up...I've put over 100 miles on it since then..If being turned down was a serious issue, then i should have seen some sort of sign by now, cuz their is no way i accidentally got them all turned upwards...I will eat my hat if i they are all turned the correct way...

Pass the ketchup.

i should go pull the intake off and see :laughing6:

but i'm not

I can see that being a problem that would cause the lifter to take longer to quiet down
as it would have to airate the oil to purge the air once quiet it will stay that way unless you lose oil pressure then will talk to you for a short time

I have always pumped up my lifters with oil before install

Hughes engines actually recommends against pumping lifters up before installation. I agree with them as it could actually hold valves open. I think the more correct way to do it is assemble the engine and prime it as a whole unit.

Although the the Suzuki would win, I would still want the MoPar.

Correct if you pump lifters up till solid they will hold valves open
and I some times do not compete the answer yes I pump up my lifters but not till solid
but Rusty is right priming complete engine is best way
