I heart '70 Coronets.

Right.
So they didn't make a 440ci four barrel Super Bee. 383 four barrel or 440 six pack only (Hemi mainly single digit production, so probably none left).
Damn.

If you are really looking for a 70, IIRC the TX9 6Pack in post #28 sold recently (at Mecum?) for "reasonable." Any of the 58 Hemi's built seem to be hiding, I haven't seen a list of owners like Hemi Cuda 'verts have.

Love that front end! The RT red line grill is over the top. Always have my eyes peeled for a 70.

Used to hate the front end , it took alot of years for it to grow on me. Owning a mopar when I was growing up meant being against the crowd. Now against many in the mopar crowd. Very Cool!

Couldn't find a black one in the past results at Mecum (I'll check Barrett, etc), but I looked at one R/T and they say it's one of 110 in F4 green. [EDIT: found it using Google Image search, under Super Bee not Coronet...sold at Indy for $80K]

Clearly there's someone out there who claims to have a breakdown of the production numbers into color....or they're just making sh1t up.

Now I'm sure Mecum are making these production numbers up. They say Dodge sold 1072 four speed six pack Super Bees in 1970.

Mecum INDY 2017 results said:
  • Sold new at Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge
  • One of 1,072 4-speed Six Pack Super Bees produced in 1970
  • 440 Six Pack engine
  • 4-speed transmission
  • One of one as optioned with TX9 paint and Red Bumblebee stripe per Chrysler Registry
  • Extensive restoration with eight years and over $120,000 invested
  • Window sticker
  • Dealer shipping order

68 post Coronet, flat hood, is my favorite....i don't like 70's.

So why is the between portion of some front numbers chrome and some painted?

And could you get the Rally Dash in any Coronet or just the Bees&R/Ts?

I'd bet you could get a rallye dash in a 500.

I've heard several theories on the grille center, including "all were chrome, and on Super Bee, they got a sheet metal cover painted in body color." That seems a little extreme to me, though.

Mine was body color, and I don't remember it being a cover.

Post #75- I have that repro poster from the early 90's.

Notice there's no "Super Bee" script on the hood bulge, it doesn't appear to have any stripe on the rear, and IIRC, if you look close, the Bee emblem between the grilles is airbrushed/"photoshopped" in, in 1969/70!

Also of note, is that the familiar "383 Four Barrel" emblems on the fenders of most 383 Dodges are different on the 70 Bee- the say "Magnum" instead of "Four Barrel".
