No interest in watching the NFL but do enjoy college ball for now. We started a football squares pool years ago on the Super Bowl at work and us old farts still play. Don't care who wins as long as it me.....ha ha....

I use the Stuporbowl as an excuse to cook a bunch of food and invite a bunch of friends over. I rarely care about the teams playing - unless it's the Seahawks (rare indeed). The thing that is annoying me lately is all the flags for knocking a guy down. It's getting ridiculous and there is no flow to the game. What annoys me more is reading about the massive fines issued each week by the NFL for playing the game. They're the governing body and they just arbitrarily take large amounts of money from players each week, sometimes when there wasn't even a flag on the field. That ain't right. It's like your employer telling you he's keeping 85% of your salary this week because you were mean to the secretary. I call bullshit!

Anyway, I have a buddy and his wife flying out from Rigby, ID, two cousins coming from Tacoma and Bellingham, my brother his wife, and his best bud and my Elk partner coming down off the mountain, my BIL and SIL, a nephew and family, a niece and family, and a handful of local friends coming over for the big game. I'll be smoking two pastramis and making a bunch of other dishes. I'm looking forward to it.

As I have slowed down since getting much older I have been watching football and baseball more in the last few years. Sad to see the Washington Commanders team go down like that in the playoffs. If the Chiefs do win the SB again then so be it.

I'm with Steve on this.........Have not watched football since crapperdick started the kneeling down and disrespecting our flag and anthem. When most of the teams followed suit, I was done with them. I don't know if they are still doing it and don't care. They can all go play in some other country they can respect.

My dad's parents forced him to participate in sports as a kid. Because of that my parent's didn't push it on my brother and me. We did each have to pick one sport and do it for one entire season without quitting. We both did basketball for one year. I have found that I do enjoy watching football but I'm not an expert on all the rules since I've never played or followed it seriously. My family were Oilers fans so when they left Houston that kinda dampened the whole deal anyway. The whole kneeling thing was a big buzzkill too.

I gave up on the National Felon League when the Krapperdick Woke BS began and still to this day do not give a damn about it nor do I watch it even when it is free as opposed to paying big $$$s for the whole package. It's a rigged game these days and a "let's be seen" who's fooking who, event every week for the streaming hordes that cannot get enough of the fake world out there. And just for the record here...they ain't the Washington Commanders either...They are the Washington Redskins and will always be such!!! Same in Baseball with the Cleveland Indians. Wokeism is a farce and a joke and now I am so glad that the real "wokeness" has come to its collective senses and getiing rid of it all and getting back to common sense!!! cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

I was a diehard Raider fan too. Grew up in California. My older brother introduced me to football when I was 10 years old. He liked the 49ers, I thought they were gay because they were a San Francisco team. Yes, we in California back in the day knew San Francisco was the fag capitol of the world. But I digress, I picked the Raiders because I thought their helmets were cool. That was 1974 with John Madden coaching and greats like Ken Stabler, Art Shell, Dave Casper, Otis Sistrunck, Jack Tatum, Cliff Branch, Fred Blitekoff, Jim Otto, Bubba Smith, and Gene Upshaw. It was the last good decade to be a Raiders fan. I was a disgruntled Raiders fan from the mid 80’s to present time when Crapperdick started the whole kneeling thing and the NFL went woke. I too quit watching the NFL , because of the whole kneeling thing, and have not regretted it since. Most years I can’t even tell you who is playing in the Superbowl and I don’t care.
You're obviously a young'n, to not mention the likes of George Blanda & Daryle Lamonica. As much as I liked watching Lamonica and the Raiders, it was old man Blanda that really made me watch every game. Had to see what amazing comeback win he would pull out of his hat next, either with his arm or his foot to lead the Raider's to another victory. Blanda was an amazing athlete even in his 40's in the AFL. There's nobody like him in football today.

I'm not a sports "Nut" but when things get interesting like they have in the past six weeks I start
watching. I put myself into the shoes of the teams and watch tentatively and realize that everyone
is doing their damnedest to win! Contrary to the Ho-Hum comments from everyone, It's not easy to
get to these playoffs let alone win until you earn a berth in the Superbowl. Hey, We have the Bears!
Not easy at all. I watch the eyes of the players that have lost and played their whole careers without
going to the big game. Tears. Spent. And the winners know this by not "Showboating" or bragging
about how they "Kicked their Asses". They know how easy it would have been NOT to have made that
field goal and lost! The best two teams are going to play the last game of the season. The winners
will cry and the losers will cry, both for different reasons.

I love football, but this Super Bowl is one I don't plan to watch. On a bright note my daughter turns 8 same day and she's with me for that, which isn't often.
