I simply cannot take it anymore!

I had the opportunity to speak with a person that had been to prison a few times and I asked why they hadn't put more effort into functioning in society and how their abilities would have been better spent making achievements in more rewarding areas. The response was that "they could survive in prison and I wouldn't". I told them that I would never need to have that skill. Curious how this was the highest achievement that they could recognize. We each have a different view of self success. This person was arrested the first time at 17 rears old and never had any self respect and still doesn't. Life is a series of building blocks that begin in school. Reading, writing, and arithmetic were the first goals for children to master and the ability to master those control your destiny. Articulation is a greater skill to own and I think my opinion may be a bit more accepted. Results may vary!

Spoke with a person in prison, ok, that could be your problem, you need to widen your polling group. Many are there because they like to kill also, we don't. It comes down to wanting to achieve a greater good for yourself. We could argue this point till the cows come home. A persons ability to remember all 14 punctuation marks that are commonly used in English grammar is not a guarantee of success. Don't ever tell me because your sentences on this forum are better than someone's else that you have found true success. You're right, we both do have a different view of success, come sit at my round table and I'll school you, then write me a letter of your new found thoughts. I realize it's all in fun, but, a failure to write correctly reflects upon your overall mental abilities, is a bit much for me to have to listen to coming from a car forum. Again, this is just my opinion and my last thoughts on this subject.

Well said.
What I’ve come to know often enough the thing is when a person hasn’t achieved some sort of success be it financial or otherwise the only thing left to boost a ego is to come down on another’s short comings
Seems to the case of what’s going on here
I don’t like a guys positions than let me knock him for whatever else I can come up with, in this case grammar

No ego. My success is measured by my consideration of other people. That is why I make extra effort in my written communication to others. It is a respect thing and I combine it with other respects to others like not sneezing on them, taking a bath and using deodorant so my hygiene doesn't offend, not using swear words while speaking to them, speaking coherently and plainly, and of course writing in a manner that make reading easier on readers. The exception of a disability is accepted, as I would likely help that person to make his work a little easier. I believe that most grammar issues here are more of a lack of concern for others rather than ignorance. The answer is actually simple, take a moment and look before you hit <ENTER>. It is respectful. Or don't and we will understand.

Is that why I get ads for "Gramarly" all the time?

Well your consideration of others has just diminished. I would guess the majority come here because we are car people. If we wanted english and spelling lesson there are other places for them.

Gotta take into consideration the ones that use their phones to make posts. On occasion, I use mine when I can't be at home and on my laptop. My dumbass phone makes corrections...ie....makes up words that I didn't even say and as far as punctuation goes...it doesn't even help with that lol. Yes, words I didn't say because I use voice texting. Never did learn to thumb type! :D

I agree but like mentioned already....do we need a resident professor teaching us Anglish?? NOPE nor do I want one....at least not here but I do try to do better wit my speeeeelin. :D

This is not directed specifically to you but here goes...
For some, reading through a poorly structured sentence with improper punctuation is really annoying.
To those that write poorly, getting called out for their errors is annoying.
Whose rights are more important? A polite reminder might encourage a member to check their words before submitting. Wouldn't that make it easier for everyone?
If a man is walking down the street in a dress and outlandish makeup, some people will get offended.
The person dressed up as a woman might get comments from bystanders and get offended.
Again.... Whose rights are the most important?
It shouldn't require reading it three times to understand what someone is trying to write. We all speak and write English here.
If I see an old person walking slow where I cannot get around them, I accept that they are doing the best that they can. That is compassion. If a person is disabled, mentally compromised or if English is not their primary language, I think most members would overlook a few mistakes. To the others, when you consistently make the same simple mistakes, to some, it is annoying.
A gay couple sued a bakery that didn't want to make their wedding cake. There were several other bakeries to choose from but the couple chose to take a stand against the owners of that bakery. The owners had religious beliefs that differed from those of the couple. I have gay members in my family and have no hate for them. I think people of all types get pissed and sometimes want to make an example of a situation.
In the end, the Bakery owners prevailed.
This is yet another example of "Whose rights supersede the others"?
I've backed off from my grammar corrections for the most part.

If you had consideration of others you might think differently.
So using your mindset misuse of grammar translates into a lack of concern or respect for others
Wow

I tried using my phone when away from my computer and I do not like it. Nothing wrong with the site, I just don't like the tiny screen, the compressed format and other limitations of the phone.

Same here! Tiny screen and having to enlarge pics and move them around....kinda reminds me of watching a 13" TV. Sucks.

I think I will go to the surgeon and have my fingertips modified to a point. Those typewriter keys on my phone are way to small. The voice option is worse for wrong words.

How'd we go from dummies' that can't make change to this?

Those "voice to text" situations can result in some funny and strange things.
