It should be a 331 c.I. If it has an extended bellhousing, ng. Normally low compression and 2 bbl. Look cool but not really worth much.

I came across one of them when I was a teenager in a pumphouse. Thought I found the Holy Grail, until I found out that they aren't good for anything besides running a pump or anchoring your boat.

CDV 10, first thing is to check the casting date on the block somewhere, normally on the side of the block below one of the heads, then check the length of the block behind the head, long,(4" or better) 51-53. they were shortened in 54. the 51 to 55 motors were 331ci, the 56 was 354ci and the 57-58 was 392. it is importent to find out this info before you get to far along, there were 392 hemis used as industrial motors that had solid lifters and ajustable rockers, there were also those made with two 2 barrels or two one barrels, some of these motors are quite valuble, while others are not so much. look for small bulges on the upper half of the valve covers, there will be four, denotes solid lifters. good luck with your find, hope it goes your way. Dave.

You could not be more wrong. Keep your pie hole shut if you do not know what you are talking about. Yes! I am offended.
331's have been on the front cover of several Street rod magazines, And in hundreds of their cars, feature build last year by well known builders, Hagerty did a big article on them and on and on.
Here's mine restored. Which was one of the feature displays at Carlisle last year. Displayed right in front of the Grandstands for 4 days.
Give HOT HEADS a call and they can and will give you all the information you need.
Usually will bring about $2500 depending on condition.
The INDUSTRIAL ONES ARE MORE VALUABLE BECAUSE OF THE BIGGER CAM AND LIFTERS.
PM me and I can give you lots of first hand experience.
Lots of intake options, hundreds of after market parts available.
Keep the faith.

That cool, nice looking and from a nostalgia standpoint I'm glad that people preserve them. (It would also be cool to see one of the sirens).
But unless your a collector interested in buying one their practical value in today's market is not what a more modern diesel powered pump is. I should know I just bought 3 of them various sizes. Two are pto powered the 3rd is on a trailer w a JD 8.3L.

I did see a Mopar Muscle where a guy put a hopped up 331 in his 68 HRS. Very cool.

I have a friend with a gen 1 Hemi in his barn, it's says tiresome on the valve covers. Any clue what size it is?
Out of a car I assume.
