Indy EZ/440-1, Victor, RPM Perf or Stealth Heads for 440????

So eventually we made 928 HP with that combination. Erson solid roller 280/288 @ .050 and .800/.800 lift. I gave up on E85 because any part of my carburetor that wasn't anodized started to corrode, got this white powder film on it. So I'm thinkn' the AFB's are going to have the same problem.

But yeah, ran it all over on the street with the E85.

I don't build anything anymore that won't run on pump gas. Why bother with race gas........unless you are in class racing where you'd lose out with the loss of compression. Heck, our 451 stroker/Edelbrock RPM heads, made 787 HP on 91 octane. Most 493-505 strokers with mildly ported RPM heads and a street solid roller will make 650HP/650TQ on 91 octane and 10.5:1.

Here is the 500" engine using E85 on the chassis dyno.

Sounds impressive. How fast has it gone in the car?

I've been all through this before. I built the car while I was recovering from cancer surgery. Built it with a 4-spd, smaller cam, iron heads. Hadn't been to the dragstrip in 30 years. Stalled the car off the line every time, missed shifts, best 60' of 2.00. Finally things sorta went right and the car went 11.30/127 even though it was going sideways in 3rd and 4th gear and I had to keep getting out of the throttle.

Found out about the chassis dyno contest and set the engine up for it with cam, Victor heads, Indy 3X intake and Dominator. Went to the dyno contest and came home and thought.....What about attempting drag racing again? I talked to a stock eliminator racer I know and he said to adjust the 4-link this-a-way and do this over here and lower your tire pressure. Went back to the strip and made an easy pass and the car goes straight on the top end. Feeling confident I figure well launch this baby at a higher rpm this time and she'll fly.

Dropped the clutch on the 'ol Demon and she didn't move 1/4"........nothing in any gear.......the ring gear had made these knuckle sized imprints all around the back of the 8-3/4 pumpkin.

Pulled the engine and set it up for the Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge. I can't shift for s.......uh crap. Won't go back to the track until I can afford a good automatic trans and a Dana.

Been years now, someday I'll get that tranny and Dana.

Well....with over 600HP you had better invest about $3000 for a DANA 60 rear end. You will break your 8 3/4 (and your trans will probably go with it).

I use the Indy SR Heads and mine flow great and mine run awesome but as with everything different strokes for different folks... as with my car i have had others say you can run a Single Plane Intake for every day driving Wrong my Mopar M-1 ported to my Indy heads works awesome best intake i have used for my combo.
