Is This Ring and Pinion Useable

I got this 8/34 741 3rd member with a 3:55 gears in it from a friend. Been in a shed - on the dirt floor, for probably 30 years. Any chance I can use them? I glass beaded the rust off.

You can use them. But why? It's pitted, it will make noise and wear quickly. Too ba.

No you're just wasting your time. If you want a 741 x 2:76 set let me know.. just pulled a perfect set out of my '64.

Should be loads of 2.76 gear sets out there in better condition. Even I have one laying around in my garage.

That sucks! 3.55s come up every so often for the 741. I think everyone and their brother has a 2.76 set laying around lol.
