Can you outline the assembly steps/order that work best for installing the vent window frame, side glass and its tracks for the doors? I wrestled these parts out to get it apart.

The vent windows are pretty self explanatory, they just drop in. I aligned them with the drip rails, then tightened. Don't forget to tape the top of your doors to avoid damage to the paint. Go back to post 168 and read, I have a step by step on door glass assembly. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

If you look down at the steering linkage from the front of the car does the 1" or so offset in the steering center link jut out towards the K-Frame (front) or to the rear of the car? I think the manual drawing seems to show it offsetting to the front (towards the K-Frame)

Interesting your Idler arm bolt seems to do from the top down and not from the bottom up..... I can't get the bolt in from the top and the manual show the nut up.... May say some of the front end parts have been replaced in the past.

Dropped the front suspension for a complete rebuild and disc brake conversion. I had the torsion bars out before and greased them on install. They still fought me tooth and nail. I am in a wedding today, hopefully tomorrow is nice so I can fire up the sandblaster.

Is it necessary to change the small block torsion bars out for big block torsion bars?

Unfortunately I didn't take any pics when I installed the quarter window regulators.

Tonight's project, install cat wiskers on quarter panel interior panels. Actually worked better than I expected. I used #6 × 1/2" stainless screws. 6 per side worked well.

After you tighten them up the basically dissappear.

Yes there is a screw at my finger tip. Here's a pic of the screws. Pre drill with a 7/64" bit.

Still fighting this front suspension. Everything is disassembled and ready to blast, except 1 upper control arm bolt that is frozen in the bushing. I'm going to give it a few more tries with penetrating lube. Worst case scenario, I'll have to cut it out. I hate to try heating it because the inner fender is already painted. Open to suggestions.

You can't get at the nut in the engine bay with an impact gun? Or won't that shake it loose either?

Wasn't clear. I was thinking double nutting it so you can hold the inner nut with a wrench and run the outer nut down and see if the hammering will break it free

Well, I ended up cutting the upper control arm bolt off. That was a load of fun. Anyways the front suspension parts are all blasted, primed and painted .

Still waiting on some of the rebuild parts for the front end, so that is at a stand still. Been polishing stainless while I listen to the cubs games on the radio. World Series Bound!!! Wish my grandmother was still with us, she was a huge Cubbies fan.

Rear window moulding and drip rail moulding all installed.

Well to say it has been busy around here would be an understatement . We are swamped at work, trying to put the finishing touches on a 3 car garage / breezeway addition. Just framed the floor system on a new house, my concrete guy is pouring the garage floor and porch cap tomorrow. Hopefully we have it weathered in before winter hits. Try to watch my Cubbies in the world series. Oh and we just has our 3rd child. A healthy 6lb 10oz girl. 1 more helper monkey in the shop!

Been trying to get a little done on the car here and there. Front suspension is going together. 1 11/16" socket and bench vise works pretty good installing upper control arm bushings. Torque converter and flex plate should be here this week, then engine and tranny can go in . After that I will have about 5 months to finish up the small stuff and have it ready for spring .
