Jason's 68 coronet build

Also the glass man called today and my windshield is in! The gasket should be here tomorrow. He sounded like he could get right on it. Starting to get exciting!

Maybe R/T Specialties, Roseville or Dantes would have the studs.

FYI, my glass man had to sand my new glass down along the top and top corners to fit. Poor guy battled it about 6 hours.

I hope you have better luck installing yours.

New windshield is in! Well worth the money to have a pro do the install. It actually saved me $150 to have Dan the glass man install it. He is a 1 man shop and his business is called, The Only Place for Automotive Glass. Right here in Morrison, IL. He did an excellent job. Took him about an hour and a half, and he came to my shop to do it. He has been installing glass since 1979, and you could tell. He sealed the entire bottom and 6" up the sides, with the proper sealant, not urethane. FYI the glass was from PGW and the seal from classic industries.

Looks great!

Any chance you could do me a favour? coudl you get a photo of the bottom chanel where the trim clips are before installing the trim?

I can't get mine in, some of the locals I have talked to think I have the wrong ones and they sit too far in. I'm pretty positive I ordered the right ones, either way I can't get my lower trim in and its giving me the sh!ts. Working through whether or not I have to pull the window to put new clips in or I can get it to work as is...

That is a very hard photo to get with the windshield in, but here goes. My clips are almost flush with the body around the windshield.

Wow it's been a week already. Here's a progress report. Steering column has been disassembled, blasted and epoxied.

Now that the windshield is in I could install A pillar trim, windshield trim, and rear view mirror.

Are you going to make the debut ride before the snow flies?
That would be nice, but no. I am on my schedule so far. Plan is to have the body finished by fall, then spend the winter working on the mechanicals. November first I will switch to snowmobile mode. Need to get them out of storage and gone thru. Also we have our 3rd and final child coming end of October. Pray for me.

Got side tracked this week with a little paint project for a buddy. He helps me alot, so it was time to repay the favors.

When you have a paint booth, everybody is your friend. Also blasted and primed some sled parts for another buddy.

Anybody have the measurements for center of the air cleaner on a 440 with a 4bbl? Need to get the hole cut in the hood and put the final coats of paint on so I can tear down this paint booth.

Well after striking out with the trim bolts, I decided to attempt a repair of the old ones. I removed them from the moulding, cleaned them, cut some 10/32 ready rod, and epoxied it in. After letting it cure for a day, I installed them. I put on plenty of epoxy, and then filed it down to fit back in the trim.

Well....it worked! Brute strength and awkwardness prevail again! I didn't go hulk tightening them, but the felt very secure.
