just when you think you're done
Color sanding and buffing. It's total worth it!

Wah nice work! You're doing great so far! awesome to see another b-body back from the dead!

Stupid question but what is "Blocking" I don't understand the meaning of it (PS: I'm French ^^)

Jason, yup your about 6 weeks (my estimate) ahead of me! I need to hurry up! A little competition may help you show your friend and help my wife get her garage parking space back before winter :)

Great project! I really like that color. I'm looking forward to following this to the end. Keep up the good work and motivation.

Holy cow!! This is awesome! Are you doing all of the work yourself?
I have done everything but the deck lid myself. The original deck lid had typical Midwest rust and was beyond saving. I located a rust free one in Montana years ago. Had it shipped on a greyhound. This rust free deck lid had a couple of fairly good size dents on body lines. Thought it may have been out of my comfort level to repair. I farmed it out to a local restoration guy and he did a greally job with it. Finished on time and took picture to show the repairs. He pulled out all the body lines it was no bondo paving job.

I do have some help from a few buddies. We get together on wednesday nights for "church". Or maybe it's to BS and consume adult beverages. Anyways we there are 4 or 5 of us regulars and we take turns going to each other's house or shops to work on projects. Here's one buddy grinding off a tack weld after we pulled a good size dent from the pass fender. We even fashioned a slide hammer from a 1/4" rod with a plate welded to it and a scaffold foot with a roll of tie wire for some extra weight. It worked excellent.

After it got to cold in the shop last winter for painting (it is heated but cools off fast when you open the door and turn the exhaust fan on) I turned my focus to the drive train. I have several big blocks that are in need of complete rebuild. Was in the process of calculating the cost when a CL add caught my eye. Pick up a running 440 from a truck. Low miles with the 452 heads redone and a 509 cam. It's a low compression engine but I bought it right with a ton of extras.

Tore the engine down to short block for inspection and to reseal. Made sure to spec out the cam too. Everything checked out and was nice and clean.
