Wow! I can't wait to get my car to where you are. You are doing a great job. She looks beautiful. I often use your site when I have questions and am looking how to do things rite.

ypu are moving right along too! I am glad to have helped.

So, I just got to know....

With the quality of work you are doing, this obviously isn't your first restoration. I would love to have the know-how on the quality of work you're doing. I'll get there eventually.

Is this your car....or is this a clients car? How many years of you been doing this?

It's absolutely stunning!

where did you find that windshield moulding piece? is it one piece or two seperate pieces? thanks

Ahhhh, is the carbs bowl vent hose supposed too attach to the oil breather vent? or is oil breather vent hose supposed to attach too the carbs base plate?

Thanks for checking in on the project. I'm happy to see that you can see the pride in workmanship and effort that I have put in the runner. I'm working on this one for a personal friend. I think that we figured out that this is around 200 cars that I have been in on in one form or another. the vast majority of them have been Mopar, but I have done some X,Y and Z stuff. I also have to say that, without Jeffs unending will to have his dream car, none of this would be happening. I guess I have been at this now for 30 plus years. so don't worry about your skills, they get better with every single weld, grind, scuff and spray. I know mine did. yours will too. Thanks again for asking , and stay cool. postcar.

I'm not sure if I understand, I have not installed the moulding yet, so I think what you are seeing is the windshield boot/seal.

Awesome, I went back and looked at the picture in question, I laughed. it's either an optical or typical dilusion, or contusion, or something else. I can assure you that the bowl vent is not hooked up to the pcv port. but it certainly appears to don't it. Good eye.

... My clickie isn't clicking...

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, mine ain't hitting on much either. lol

We are about to go to paint on my car and will be putting on the hood stripes in the next week or so...how far does should black go onto the inner fender - is it just the overspray, or something more?

I masked out so that I could close the hood after the inside stuff flashed off. you can see the edge on the cowl, probably 5/16" in on the horizontal. I also went over the inner fender lip to the edge of the horizontal. the entire edge of the hood is also black, under the front lip and, the rear edge. the idea is to look into the gap, and see only the same black. as to the overspray into the edges, I highly recommend that you do not. the reason that the process I'm using works well is that with the jamb paint only flashed and not cured in, anything that goes into the edge while spraying the outside, will blend in and for all intents and purposes, disappear. the hardest part is the masking. try to set it up so that you can remove the hinge masking and close the hood without hitting the masking on the cut in area. good luck.
