you can do it. I guarantee. all it takes is 3 million beneath the breath cussin's, 4 or 5 hundred busted knuckles, a thousand million hours, and on and on and on........

You said it postcar. On top of a big pile of cash lol.and it looks very good with the black and green. Kinda cuts the green up.i always painted the underside black from the torsion cross member back as well. I don't know if it's factory correct but I think it looks better.

im not sure it makes a whole lot of difference if it is correct or not anymore for me. I would much rather see one undercoated, because it is going to last a whole lot longer. because of the rubberized effect it has, it really does a much better job of resisting the pounding that comes with driving the car. and it is also much easier to keep looking good. cheaper too. I do prefer the front end to "appear" correct, but I realize it is not really possible to do the "factory" job on this stuff. the truth is that, although it is cool to know it is "correct" under there, you are probably
going to be the only person that ever sees it. that being the case, i'd rather it was COMPLETELY sealed up.

and it looks good in pics!!!!!!!!!

Im at odds with the "original" paint underneath and yet trying to stick with original as much as possible, It sounds like a contradiction but at the same time, how many of ANY of our cars are "original"? i mean if you stop and think about it we seem to always change the wheels and tires, redline tires with caps? i hope you understand what im saying and anyone can say we can change them back to original, and we can, but we can always change the paint color, paint the underneath, change the interior PUT the original sound system back in lol... there is always the debate, with me i want original but change what i want and enjoy it, its my ride and gots to do it the way isezzz want it lol, sorry purists or anyone else..... To much work, to much money something has to give! Im using Eastwoods rubberized encapsulater, inside rails, rockers and any place i need, Por- 15 on every place that's easy, im going the extra money mile to a point, im not sure if i want to lay on my gravel floor and make sure the underneath is painted in all the right places, ive sand blasted my springs and rear end yep, ill paint them correct, but i have my limits to! I do hope ALL knows this isint to start a argument or debate but i have to agree with Jeff, sealing it up and YOU know it is and are good with it, have the fun, or work until some one else gets it to do... the fun... You do know that being we do these cars, because of what they are, being as old as they are and knowing it... ROFL, WE know when were done unless some crazy gets them, they will never-ever be in the shape that we have them now again!

for my friends and I, as soon as you touch it, it aint original anymore. and there are very few who can "restore" it to "original" anyway. the materials are either too expensive or unavailable. and even if you use original materials, they are usually applied incorrectly. not to mention that todays materials are much better. especially when it comes to paint. I don't really consider what I do a restoration. its more of a damn good cleaning and major rust removal and freshening. nothing more. I prefer to get it as close to right as possible and let the owners customize to their hearts content. just like back in the day.
