Lightweight car batteries

And regular temp charging does not produce the gasses. So, no explosion.

Despite what some people imagine, you cannot charge a frozen battery. Doesn't matter where you're at.
They can blow up real nice though..... Father in Law scattered one in the tractor all over the barn about 35 years back. "Put it on boost"... yah okay...

Only if you bring it in the house and try it. Don't forget you need a spark. ( helps if you smoke  )

Must have been a source of ignition.
My metal man's neighbor in his shop, left some probably shitty battery on hard charge overnight and it boiled right out. Todd's shop was fucked for a week. ( high end resto guy)
We wanted to strangle the guy

Never leave any battery on non automated charge.
You have to be around.

YEP, the good old full size charger booster on wheels. Slapped it on, went to the house, came back and all I know is he came running back with acid all over him and headed straight for the basement shower stall.

100%..... I've never been a part of an exploding battery but ( knock on wood six times) I take every charging event carefully.
And also the last prostock Dodge guy ARC Racing almost died from battery charger electrocution.

Yeah, I boiled a farm tractor battery that I left on over the weekend.
Let's say my father-in-law was not amused ....

I had an Odessey 680 glass mat in my airplane, to save 10lbs over a wet Concorde. That's as far as I would go, seen too many of the really little batteries, earth something or other fail.
The 680 started my 360 cu in airplane engine, but not my 418 in the A Body. Plus they don't last long when cranking. One plus is it is an 8 year battery, if I drained it dead, you could recharge it.

A member over on A Bodies lost his garage, 2 cars, all his parts do to charging a drill battery.
Lucky the garage is detached from the house and they were able to save the house.
He stated that he plugged it in and walked down the drive to the mailbox. When he turned around the place was in flames.

charging a battery of any kind scares me, I never leave them unattended...... and outside when ever possible

This battery **** is making me crazy. Just saw news broadcast about a Dealer loaner EV that caught on fire in the persons garage and burnt the house to the ground. Their EV car was in the shop for electrical problems....

sounds like they doubled down on stupid

I’m not sure what a stock battery weighs… 40 lbs? If so, this lithium one saves 33 lbs. add that to the longer cables and wires I have and this could be 55-60 lbs lighter overall.
...and if you didn't eat those 7lb sandwiches, think of how much more weight you could save on.

I have to cut back. A pair of short
Pants were tight today when they fit fine 3 weeks ago.
It is a punch to the gut to pop a button off like that.

How about capitalizing the first letter of each sentence?
