Lost my Buddy today.

Condolences on the loss of your family member, Bob. I've always had dogs and they've always been
strays or from the local shelter over the decades and they've all been the best friend a fella could ever want.
Some are even still here on my property for all eternity, right where their favorite spot was.
I handle "that time" poorly, more so than with relatives I'd say.
After a dozen times, it doesn't get easier...but I owe them that much at the least.
I hope you find peace.

They are great friends, but unfortunately dog years go quickly.

Yes they do. The Wife and I have had to let go of several dogs in the past 8 years. It always hurts.

As I write this I can see my dog sleeping across the room. She's 15 and just lost her sight about a month ago. I walk her EVERY day, rain or shine and have from the day we got her. After reading your story it reminds me her days are numbered and my heart fills with sadness for both of us. I'm so sorry for your loss......... Friendship is the only beast that's never known to bite until it's dead....
