I already did from Amazon! They take the same as Eastwoods as its the same unit! I got the paint stripper crud wheel for $25 to my door in 24 hrs. Eastwood wants $50 for the same drum…just sayin

The new Harbor Freight thing is awesome and I was gonna suggest it. I did a video on youtube showing it on one of my cars, strips the paint super quick!

Going inch by inch. Almost done exterior. Interior is a pita lol. Using everything wire wheels flap discs drums …. When I get tired I stop as its a lot of physical work add the PPE and its a slog but I am just about there. Epoxy soon!

Hey guys what is your tip tricks tools etc. on removing paint from area’s that aren’t flat or that have a lot of mechanical details? For example see my shot below. Sandblasting not an option. I used Aircraft stripper in the 70’s and that stuff was good. Tried a few years ago and it looks like it had been neutered….

Also I have to do the floor which is very 3D.

Yup I think I might have mentioned it previously. I have a hydroblast set up and it works great BUT all that sand inside the doors and crevices is problematic. Also I can’t move the car out of my garage for several reasons. But it keeps crossing my mind as I struggle to complete this task with mechanical abrasives. I am almost done too.

There is a reason I prefer to just jump in & go full bore... Trying to clean stuff without taking the car fully apart is more work than just digging in and committing fully & in the end the results are never as good as if you'd just gone for it... Don't get wrong, I'm sure it'll be nice but if you'd stripped it to a bare shell & had it either media blasted or chemically stripped every nook & cranny would be perfect, trunk jambs, door jambs, under hood, bottom of the car.... I chemically strip the outer panels & keep the blasting mostly to all the metal that has enough stamping strength that the blasting won't effect it... After chemically stripping the exterior when the shell is being blasted I hit the exterior panels while standing 5-6 feet back & moving quickly, just enough to clean the metal & add some tooth without risk of damaging the panels...

Yeah I agree if I could rotisserie I would and it is more work and less effective no doubt. However we all live with limitations in life….

First of all, I admit I know nothing about how to strip paint, but can the entire car be chemically dipped or is that super expensive or just not practical? Just curious and trying to learn the different options.

It is expensive, not many places do it anymore, the EPA has regulated it into obscurity...
