Want to put a lift in my garage. I don't have the ceiling height or room for a two or four post lift. Need something more compact but durable, safe, and sturdy. Looking at mid-rise scissor type lifts. Will be using it on my '73 Charger. Any recommendations, best brands?

I have a 9-1/2 foot high ceiling. When my car is on it I have pretty good access underneath and I'm 6 feet tall. But I have to stoop a bit and that's hard on my back so I lower it down a bit and have a stool to sit on and work underneath. At full height with the high feet on the hoist it clears my ceiling by one foot. This one is about 5 feet from floor to the top of the rails - there are two sets of "feet", the ones shown are the long ones and add about 8" of lift.

This is one of the best investments I've ever made BUT it is not the be-all end-all. Every lift system has its pros and cons. My plan this summer is to replace it with a 4-post.

As for Dadsbee's comment, so far I have managed to install everything except the exhaust system - only because I'm not there yet. Even the engine install was done on this lift with some maneuvering. Yes, the underside would be WAY more accessible on a two post but this is what I have and I've managed well with it.

If this is what you can afford and all you have space for, do not let anyone deter you.

Perfect! That’s what I’m looking for. My ceiling to is 9.5 feet. What brand/ model is yours?

I bought it "newsed". It has Mac Tools stickers and literature but there's no doubt its re-branded for them by a manufacturer, there are a lot that look identical. Get one with twin rams. And it works on 110v.

What weight is it rated to? My Charger weighs in about 3800 lbs with the 440 engine>

What size rear wheel (with backspace) & tires are you running and is it tubbed to fit? Looks like what I'd like to run on my Bird. Thx

Indeed, and yours maybe manufactured by Mohawk, it appears to be similar to mine. Twin rams and positive stops.

The initial post was looking for thoughts and opinions. Now its turned to facts. All the specs will be on the website for virtually any lift device made. All you have to do is look. I'm not about to don my winter clothing to trek out to my shop and root through my manuals because you're to lazy to use Google!

 Sounds to me you rather go out into the cold shop to find your manuals instead of using Google! lol

you rather go out into the cold shop
My shop isn't cold - nor is it hot in summer.

You're an old member here. How often have you seen this bullshit where a simple question snowballs into the guy wanting you to come over and do the job for him !!

I live in Bumfuck, Nebraska ... who has the best price on a half inch bolt ?!?!?

There are alot of a-holes out there. You don't have to join them. I thought this forum was for friendly sharing of information among those that have a common interest and passion in Mopar's. FYI I did check Google/MAC Tools website. They advertise one scissor lift and its rated at 6000 lbs. I was just trying to ensure it was the same one you have since I don't know how old yours is or if it was the same model because its a different color. You could have lied and just said you didn't remember and when you had a chance you would let me know. I didn't **** in your corn flakes this morning so keep your shitty attitude to yourself. Maybe you do need to go out in the cold so you can chill the hell out.

If I offended you asking about the rear wheels/tires in your photo I'll do my best to remember to not respond to your future postings. Wow.
