Modern Bullitt build

Mike,
With the height of the intake on this Gen 3 hemi I will have to use an aftermarket linkage as well. I have yet to install it but I found that lokar has a very similar cable end to the Chrysler so the connection at the pedal will be the same. I will post pictures after I do the install which should be in the next few weeks.
Thank you!

Thanks Pat, I guess I wasnt clear with my request, I need a pic of your brake pedal and how its connected to the hydroboost push rod. I have mine mounted but looks like Im going to have to modify the linkage.
Thanks

Finished up the tail light wiring, subwoofer & speakers, and started on the power window wiring.

Found a nice set of JL 5 x 7 speakers. They fit the factory speaker holes in the package tray without cutting.

With all four windows using a special switch that utilizes the original crank handle I decided to put the separate 4 window controller switch assembly under the dash so the car will look as though it has manual windows (like the movie car;-)

Those funky vertical taillight brackets in the trunk tell me that the car was built before December '67.

One of the most well done outrageous 68 chargers I have ever seen. And 40+ years in the car seen I have seen a lot. You should be very proud Pat. OUTSATNDING!!!

I agree. This car could easily be a SEMA winner, IMHO

Thank you gentlemen for your very kind comments! I’m not too sure about a SEMA show winner, but it would be very cool to participate in the SEMA show! That would be good enough for me.

Pat don't sell your self short. It is as good as anything there. I installed my headliner yesterday. It isn't even close to the job you did on yours. I cant get the sail panel area to look right. That area around the back window is a pain. lol. But I am not building to the level you are. I don't have your talent. I would love to see your charger in the builder competition.

Started installing rear wheel well trim rings, And mounted one rear wheel as it’s been a few years since I’ve seen it on the car.
Thanks
Pat

I fully agree.

Many folks do a nice job on their build threads so we naturally provide encouragement, suggestions and positive comments. It is part of what makes this community great.

Pat, your car is in a different class. I seriously suggest you reach out to some parts company (perhaps one where you have used their products) and see if they will sponsor you/use your car for the SEMA show. I don't think that is out of the question at all. Many smaller companies would LOVE to have a world class car to have as part of their display, but probably can't find one. You never know until you try!!!

Regardless, your car, if it continues on this path, will be a magazine cover car and show winner - big time. That's my prediction and I'm sticking with it!!!

Again, thanks for sharing your build, ideas and expertise with us!

In total agreement! Most of the really great sema cars come from many skilled people. Yours is a one man build. Something to be honored that not many can accomplish. And you have a following in our B body community here who would love to see one of our own on that level.

I hung the right side door over the weekend. Drilling all the hinges both in the door and on the car with an 1/8” drill bit, (when the car was in primer before disassembling) then used them as an alignment tool made the installation very easy. I also used an 8 pound weight wrapped in a towel inside the door to simulate the weight of the glass and vent.

Thanks

Pat

Gorgeous Pat, exactly what my paint guy does as well once the doors are set up. Drills an 1/8" hole through the hinges so it goes back together exact.

Installing some of the door hardware is a tedious process with new paint, but so far is going well! The new power window regulators are nice but I spend a lot of time laying out the electric crank switches. The power crank switches do not come with a Mopar adapter so I needed to cannibalize a crank handle shaft from an old rusted regulator and welded it to part of the new crank shaft. The crank switches work the power windows by moving the handle up or down about 15° to contact microswitches. A cool set up if you want power windows but the look of manual window cranks. All of my original window regulators are in excellent condition so I’ll need to find some rusted regulators to salvage the small crankshaft for the other three windows. PM me if you have some broken, rusted or bad window regulator’s

Thanks

Pat
