Msd box

I just put in a msd box and just want to get it right I keep the old coil wire to the small red and just run a jumper across the ballast resistor

Yes Sir. That's the way to do it.

You can hook a volt meter up to the coil wire after you jumper the ballast to double check that it worx with the key on. I had my distributor out so I just check it by unhooking coil wire and turning the distributor shaft (key on) and watched the sparks shoot out the coil wire against the manifold (grounded source).
