my 1970 belvedere project

josh, that tail panel looks great. It breaks up the all one color look.

did you try to pop the socket in without the bulb? as far as I know, they all take the 1157.

good idea basket , my 70 sockets are really really tight to get in and out also so it could be your just not getting it all pushed in . THey have horrible grounds from the factory also , so if you can put an extra ground wire to the body its always s good thing .

now I've never had a grounding problem, and my gas gauges have always worked...:sideways tongue:

...i think car was white a one time...the floor pans are white..

I think your car is painted in it's original color of Yellow Gold. Does your fender tag read DY3 on the third line down?

i wanted to get the air grabber hood...but investing 1500-2000+dollars in hood alone is to much for me..between metal work,,paint,,and finding all the hardware and breather is expensive, so i fig a amd cowl hood is the better way to go for my car since its just a belvedere and not a RR or gtx..my cousin had a 440 6pack hood he gave me...so im gonna use it for now...and get a nice cowl hood from amd for it this spring.

Hey it's no sweat off my brow... I'll cut this one up and put the airgrabber in my Dodge Ram hood, lol...

hang on to it someone will come along , :eusa_think:

anyone ever got floor pans or panels from year one? im ordering my floor pans and maby trunk pan today and looked at AMD,,sherman,,and year one..amd and sherman uses 16-18 gauge metal,,year one reps told me they use 20 guage or better thats all he kept saying..way yr one talked like all theres is 20 guage is that thick enough?...amd with shipping is $937 for complete front floor pan plus rear floor pans,, shermans is about the same...year ones alot cheaper but is the quality as good as others and ain't 20 gauge kinda thin?

20 gauge range is typical to automotive sheetmetal Josh. The AMD trunk and floor pans I installed were in the 20 gauge range on my recent project. 16 Gauge is literally just about twice as thick as 20 gauge

No reproductions. If you want those you'll have to find them on ebay or someone selling. But the '70 Belvedere never had them originally.
