My 66 Satellite street car project

So I was up in the air for a few months on what to do with the undercarriage. I originally sprayed it with BC/CC but then decided to cut it apart again for Mini Tubs and Spare tire well removal. Looking at it for a few months I realized (IMO) that it just wasn't nice enough to go that route. Most of the floor pans where original and after wet blasting and cleaning they showed a bit pitting in spots and I wasn't about to start filling and sanding. So at the end of the day I went with Tintable Raptor Liner, Mixed n 10% of viper silver base coat and went to town. I think it looks good and should give me a very durable under carriage for years to come. It also has good sound deadening properties as a bonus. Really made me nervous to pull the trigger on this one, but in the end I'm pretty happy with the way it came out.

Looks awesome, curious as I've looked at the raptor lining path. How much did you end up needing to do the entire bottom?

Tintable Raptor starts off white, Not to be confused with standard black. One thing I would recommend for anyone going this route is spay a coat or two of base over the Primer before applying the Raptor. I skipped this step and think it picked up a grayish tint from the gray primer. When I did it on the inside of the trunk quarters there was already a couple coats of silver base and I think it came out more silver.

Now that the undercarriage is mostly done I spent about 1 1/2 hours installing all the body plugs and started playing around with the QA1 K frame and spindles. I’m currently waiting on the Wilwood brake kit to come in to finish up the front suspension. I also can't find my LCR mounting bolts so that's another $150 bucks spent on something I already bought once. WTF

My plan is to get the car off the rotisserie and back on the wheels, then assemble the body and block out while together. Once done i try and find someone to spray the car in its entirety.

Feels good to finally see some stuff actually going back on the car for a change.

Just ordered the F.A.S.T XFI Sportsman Throttle Body EFI Engine Control System and I'm Very Excited to be going this route. I've been a die hard Carb guy forever and this is a real change for me. One problem I've run into is I already own a INDY 440-3 4500 (Dominator) Flange manifold but the Fast system requires a 4150 set up. So I'm planning on selling the 440-3 in favor of the 4150 style 440-2 or maybe a trade to someone who wants to go to the 4500 instead.

Worked on the Rear this weekend It's not a Dana but I figured I'd give the little 8 3/4 every chance I can to survive. Narrowed 8", Back and top braced, , 4.10's, Detroit Locker, and Moser axles.

Going to Body shop in the next couple of weeks so have to get her back on the ground. Installed the Springs, Rear, and CalTracs, Front Control Arms, and Willwod Discs. Found out when swapping to Rear Disc brakes that the drum brake backing plate acts as a spacer and now the axles are 1/8" to long. Going to cut them down today.

Thanks, But I still have a long way to go. Would have liked to paint on the rotisserie but body guy needs it a roller so I kinda skipped ahead. Now i have to panic about over spray on everything....But it is nice to do something other then Body Work, Cleaning, and Paint for a change.

Had to cut the Axles down about 1/8" on each side to make up for the backing plates I removed. Luckily I run a Maintenance shop with a in house machine shop.

It would have been easier for sure I can imagine. I know what you mean its been a year and 2 months that I started the resto process and I'm still in body work cleaning etc. Right now I'm changing rear quarters.

Thanks, It just takes time, I'm in going on 5 years this spring... The goal is to be ready for Carlisle 2017, but that's what I said last year. you'll get there just keep swimming!!

Installed the rear Wilwood disc setup last night and took the car off the rotisserie. Old summit wheels for now just to roll it around till the car gets back from paint.
275/60-15 used to be tight now their almost 4 inches to narrow. Put it on some Harbor Freight Dollies to move it around easier. Still need to get the steering box, Tie rod, Drag link, Pitman arm, and steering column in.
