Just got off the phone with Dwayne Porter (Porter Head Services) for some help choosing a (better for the application) cam. I must say that Dwayne is a pleasure to talk too and really knows his ****. He took the time necessary to work something out for me and never once was pushy to get me off the phone. I commend that these days and in the future will defiantly give him any work I may need done. Just wanted to put it out there, he is what the sport should be all about.

Looking good man, nice motor! Good info too, for later..

So Looks like Dwayne and I have decided on a new cam grind. It's an 11.5:1 solid roller motor, the heads are really big ported INDY 440-1's and don't have much in the way of low speed velocity, and the rest of my combination is not exactly optimal, but it is what it is. I will be driving this on the street so valve train durability needs to addressed, and I don't want to run anything higher than a 9 1/2" 4200-4500 stall. It probably could use more gear as I'm only running 4:10 with a gear vendors OD and a 29" tire. Also needs to run on pump gas. The only thing it does have going for it is the FAST EFI to take the edge off.

What I did learn today is you can have the same duration and lift cam with different ramp rates that change how fast and violently the valve opens and closes. This is how he address the street durability issue. Just some info I thought worth sharing.

At the end of the day I would like to see some 10.5 - 10.8 passes, not sure if it will happen with this set up.

But this is what he came up with:

.262/.262 @ .050
.645/.645 Lift
108 LSA

almost done, got a little sidetracked ....... you weren't ready anyway :poke:

Got the new cam in last week. Decided to replace the lifters while I was at it. Went with Crower ENDURA MAX bushed (no needle bearings) Indexed the cam and was out 6 deg. Had to order 9 position timing set to correct that. Also waiting on Smith Bros. Push rods to come in. But slowly making progress.

we decided to do the inside with lizard skin; it's a bitch to prep for, but worth it IMO..... sound control is in, ceramic insulation is next....... then somehow paint the roll bar

Thanks malex. I have piles of parts to install which i'll post up as I go. Go some really cool stuff going in. Gear Vendors OD, F.A.S.T Fuel injection, Big M&H tires (That i'm still not sure are going to fit), Bead lock wheels, Skinnies up front, Wizard Radiator w/brushless fans, Hydro boost, Etc. looking forward to Carlisle 2018 (I hope)

Outstanding Mopar, simply gorgeous and as nice as there is. Hemi scoop looks long and low too. Have you determined the air filter set up yet?

Actually, I haven't. Going to get the motor in and see what kind of clearance I have. I think with the INDY intake things are going to be tight. I'm stoked and can't wait to finish this thing. Wheel and tire change should really set the tone. Trying to tuck 390's if it works!

Thanks Justin.......... looks pretty good outside too!
