That plug has to push in to lock the holder.....

Do I have it in backwards? I thought that I remembered that it went in the way that I had put it.
I did have it locked in before but the arm of the window lever was to close and would catch on the edge of the plug extension as the window would go down and pushed the plug sideways until it bent and pulled out. After shortening the end some, so that it would not hit the lever arm, I made sure that it locked back in and I put a screw in the tab end to insure that the locking tabs would remain spread and locked. Maybe if I had pushed it in from behind I wouldn't have had that problem.

You have it the right way but the pin has to be pushed all the way in.....

I think that the arm must have been a little bent because it didn't catch in the left door and the pins are pushed in all of the way.

I got a few more bugs worked out this week.
The heater was always running and when I would run the A/C the the heat would override the cold air. I adjusted both ends of the cable (controller in the dash and the heater control valve on the firewall) and was able to get the dash control cable to shut the hot water flow all of the way off. A/C now blows cold air making it nice to drive in this hot weather.
We took an evening drive to try out my headlights. They were pointing low so I adjusted them where I wanted them.

so cool your driving it, i'm not too far behind another few months but then winter will be back again. I just got back from my maiden voyage around the block with no windshield been dragging my feet on that one, hoping to have my trim clips high enough to grab the stainless. in your windshield install pic is that the clip level height in reference to the cowl, before the adjustment or after, thanks and congratulation on actually enjoying the car and driving it.

The trim clips kit that I had bought did not have the right sized clips for the bottom of the front window. I had installed them the other day in preparation for the window installation. When They installed the windshield the clips were to low and would not clip the lower trim on. I had them remove the window. (which was scary to me. I thought that they were going to break it.) I re-drilled the clip screw pilot holes 1/4” higher and reinstalled the clips. They reinstalled the windshield and everything fit good. I was happy.

Your car is coming along nicely and looks great. I have been really enjoying taking mine out for drives.
The window trim clip reference picture it before I raised the clips up. I had to bring them up about 1/4" higher.

I haven’t done anything on my car lately so I decided to take my wife for a drive up the canyon roads 15 miles from here. It was a beautiful drive.
I am still having some problems getting everything tuned and I still have not figured out how to get the lockdown in the transmission to work and the engine doesn’t seem to have the power I thought it should. My car will also over heat when I’m going slow around town. It will cool down a little when I’m going fast and getting more air flow through the radiator. I will keep trying to figure it out and get things working how they should.

https://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/Reading_spark_plugs this is a cool thing that might help, mine was running a bit hot also, it was my timing it was too far advanced, originally went by my engine builder suggestion for timing, i have a plug and play distributor for the fuel injection which i think changed alot, so i basically put the timing light away and set it by ear for a warm start up, it was at least 8 degrees off, just an tiny bit of movement on my distributor made a big difference, i gained quite a bit of power and runs about 187 idling with a 180 thermostat at 80 degree outside temp. its still not quite right, dealing with the fuel injection is a whole new world for me but starting to figure it out. your car looks awesome! nice shots with the background.

Thanks Don for the link. I have suspected my timing being off is causing my hotter temperatures.

Getting close, sometimes it gets up to 220*. I let it cool off when it gets up there or it will boil over.

It sounds like your running too much initial advance. RB's should be 36-38 all in (initial, vacuum and mechanical) at 2200-2500 rpm. If you don't want to cough up the money for a dyno tune then the next best is to measure the total advance and work backwards from there. Try retarding the timing to 8-10 BTDC and see if that makes a difference with the temps.

I've been busy with many things and have been slow at working on my car. I have another daughter that is getting married and more honeydew projects to go with it. I still manage to pick a few minuets here and there on some of the parts.
Lately I was able to fit and attatch my electric fans on my radiator.

I have been checking the radiator, fans, and mounting sheet. I called the company that sold me the setup and they suggest that the setup like mine helps the air flow better. I can feel the fans pulling a lot of heat through. I still may try opening the blocked areas to see if that helps.
