Are e body k members interchangeable with any other bodies? He got up on the rail. His drivers rear slick let go.

70 up to 73B (73 I think) are good to go....69 back to 66B will work too but they are set up for a different sway bar.

Sorry to hear, got pics?

I've heard some people say that but so far I haven't run into it. Maybe someone will chime in that has experienced it. There was a thread over on that 'other board' where some one said the K member in his E body car had the steering box about 3" from the shock tower (a problem for headers) and after installing one from an E body, it was only about an inch away from the tower so he figures the K was from a B car. I installed a K from an E body in my 66 Belvedere and it looked like the steering box sat in the same place as it did in the /6 B body K frame. And the engine swap site doesn't address it.... http://www.engine-swaps.com/Pages/ProductsType/K-Frames.html

He's ok.His brother called me this morning to tell me.No pic's yet.He was in the right lane when the drivers rear tire went south. He crossed the lane and went into the guard rail.It hopped up on it and slid for awhile then back on the track. It will need a new front clip,k member two rims, header and oil pan sure.I may get up to his house this week and look.He runs in the tens.Said he was going about 125.He will probably go fiberglass now. With a stock grill.Keep a somewhat stock appearance.Hopefully the frame isn't tweaked to bad.

Glad he's ok. Depending on how badly the K is bent up, be ready for a good pop when ya take the bolts out. I'm sure the K frame has a good deal of stress on it. Doing the job on a frame machine might be a good way to do it too....

73 K frame s have the isolater mounts (rubber bush) 72 is the last solid frame in b body atleast not sure on anything else

Don't know why but I can never remember that. Might because I never worked on anything in the B body line up newer than 71. I do know that the E cars used the same K to the end of their run.

As stated above...it might really be bent/twisted. I'd strip the sheet-metal[leave k-frame], then have look and take measurements for stuff obviously outta whack. A frame shop might be in order.

Agreed.I sent him that info this morning. You all have been very helpful, thanks for all the advice. It's funny, the day before he was talking about putting fiberglass parts on it.

Glad he's ok too, sucks either way...

I hope the car isn't bent to damn bad either...
did it only hit in the front ?
I'd check the rear too, better to be safe than sorry...

good luck

Hmm insurance frod? He wanted glass parts now he gets them prob free From insurance. I like his style tell him we won't say a word

Chrysler designed the e bodies with the same front suspension as the b bodies to keep cost down.

hope he's back at the track soon.
