My new project 1974 charger 318 se

Well the pump might be bad . It should fill the trans up more then that though
Pop your trans lines off the rad maybe you have an air pocket?
Force feed the fluid in after lines are off ! Give it a little air blast with your compressor
Ok i did that
I have 10 quarts in it now. Its reading over full. I jacked the front of the car up and ran it in neutral then the back.
It still won't move under its own power. But it spins the wheels when its jack up better then befor

I think I'm going to pull the trans and take it down town to the tranny shop. I talk to the guy working there he seems pretty sure I jammed the pump. He said the cost for a total rebuild is 1000-1500. My question is I see new ones on jegs for like 1400 so what should I do???

Shop around I can get a 904/727 rebuilt for $750-800 here
But if that's the going rate the ones at jegs seems like a good deal
You might try rebuilding it yourself it's fairly straightforward

Ok my transmission is on its way....

Ah that's all pitty stuff compared to what you've done so far !
You got this just keep pushing

Nice find Jonathan,
Sure wish mine looked that good.
Under the vinyl top where the roof meets the rear quarter you will need to fill if your not putting vinyl
back on, like Bb70charger500 said earlier they did just what was needed.

Have fun, it is what it is.

Jonathan, I laughed out loud when I read the inspiration fro Roadkill. This is the first I read this thread. There was a 74 triple black Charger like that in the town I grew up in. I always thought it was awesome. I can't wait to hear how your first ride goes.
