My new shop.

The theatre is to be an outdoor drive in type in my front yard with a central gazebo/concession stand.

:headbang:

kind of not kidding....

lol.

(someday)

Might as well just make it a drive in!! Maybe you can get lucky in the backseat. lol

When do I find a program like the one you used to design you shop?

Please keep us posted on the progress.... man that's going to be a nice shop.

I used "google sketchup" it's a free download, it's a little corny but it's very good for free software.

We trenched my new water line yesterday from my well to the new shop (still an imaginary shop at this point).

You northern folk might be interested to hear that when crossing my driveway with the back-hoe with the trench.... We hit frost at 8' depth on June 12.

Huh.... I'm starting to think I might be living a little bit too far north?

Southern guys be like "What's ground frost? "

lol.

Our frost line is only 4 foot, how deep do you have to go?

We probably averaged 7 to 8 ft for the 150' water line. For the stretch where we hit frost (crossing the driveway where I had been plowing and driving all winter) we put 2" blue board insulation over the water pipe before burying the trench.

(fingers crossed)

Ha ha ha think I said some thing about frost in June a few pages back!
Yes the frost goes deep in a driveway. A few years ago we lost power, the incoming power line had a fault in the driveway. The power company was down at least 8 feet before they broke through the frost. Power line was just be low the frost.
So Dave I'm way down south (almost Iowa) so frost gets deep down here too. ha ha ha

that shop is going to be great I thought mine was big 30x32 but you never have enough room keep us posted

Going to be a rainy weekend to I'm closing myself into the office in the house to go over tool/equipment lists. Tweaking and changing a few items, also adding a floor drain by the air compressors and the refrigerated after cooler, wow... I almost forgot about that drain.

I really need to slow down this weekend and think about possible future equipment that I can try to accommodate now before i pour the concrete. Things like maybe an additional hoist, where would I put it? If I figure that out now I can have the concrete a little thicker in that spot and make sure no water pipes are in the way for drilling the floor for a future lift.

Good idea Gpuller!

Well, it rained all weekend so no progress on the shop.

But, my wife and the kids surprised me with a first run of T-shirts with our logo on them. My fathers day gift, they surprised the heck out of me.

Yes, I got to this point and was going to ask about plumbing. Brooms are good sometimes. So are leaf blowers.
You said you had run a water line?
But floor drains to hose the place down is what I was thinking about.
I can imagine to complications in MN with that though.

My imaginary timeframe, had me ripping cars apart and ever so gently seaming things back together mid July.

Now it's starting to look like I'll be lucky to have a concrete slab by mid July.

Frustration overload.

Sorry, didn't mean to bring the gloom. Trying to stay positive here but it's wearing on me, lol!
