My rebuilt 440 only fires on 2 cylinders

For now I would stick to no t stat. That way you can fill it and not worry about having an air pocket. Water boils at 212 f. With the cap on and under pressure that should put the boiling point high enough that it is not an issue. When its running, run your hand around the front of the rad. Do this to make sure the temp is even throughout. Any kind of restriction and the temp difference will be noticeable.how far is the fan from the rad? Does it have a shroud? How big is " isn't that big "?
 
I'm confused as to how you can boil water in one minute,I'd like to see your home built stand .
 
It's also a fresh motor--they run a little hotter till they get broke in...
 
Ok, i'm a geek, but which cylinders were firing? A couple o edjumicatd guesses were tossed out there and i need to know who was right.
 
HT413 it turns out that the firing order was placed on but clockwise instead of counter clockwise. And I also had the rotor set 180 out. When fixed and set at 10 advanced timing it fired right up. I ran it for about 30-40 mins total now. Was getting real hot for about the first 15 mins of running. But now it runs cooler. I ran it for 15 mins tonight and runs great. Its a beast. Mopar or no car

Rotor, or reluctor?
 
rotor in the distributor was 180 out, I checked the reluctor and it was installed with the dowel already in the counter clockwise position.
