Need electrical advice for an electrically-challenged guy

How many miles or how much time did you have it running with things being that way under the hood?
I ask just because I'm thinking if there was some decent running time that makes me think the weird configuration may not be directly at fault and it is just one component failed or a connection opened up.

I'm in the same boat and have taken the same steps in just getting it drivable. I try to limit real downtime and make my projects drivable ones. I didn't pull my harness off the car to check it since it I go with the least disturbance approach.
Good luck, I'm kind of local, maybe one day we can compare ugly engine bays.

well when I got the car in 2018, it started up and ran just fine. I reconnected the tach and I had to repair a few electrical connections but nothing major..... so pretty much nothing since 2018. Guess I was on borrowed time
