Need Hemi Advice

I little more info, found a receipt from July 99, from s dodge dealership. Cam package P4529316, cost a working 123.03 at the time. So being that this hemi appears to have a Mopar cam would the .028 and .032 lash apply ?

The Mopar Performance Catalog from 1999 has the P4529316 valve lash set at I.028 E.032.
Other specs is lift .484/.475 Installed centerline 104.Cam centerline 106.Advertised duration 284/284, overlap 72.
According to the book it's a re-issue O.E. cam used in 68-69.

.028-.032 with stock iron heads and stands would be fine cold, although I wouldn’t want to listen to that sloppy thing hammer. With those aluminum stands growing at temp, the lash will get really sloppy if not lashed hot. The lash requirement is gonna depend on head/block/rocker material and the lash ramps on the cam. I’d shoot for .024/.027 hot and leave it at that.
My passenger side cover is quite a tight squeeze to remove cold I can't imagine trying to do it fully warm. If I adjusted cold what lash setting would you try.

Glad you found it,if that's the stock replacement
those lash figures are correct 28\32.
Some people set it tighter cold.
If that's the correct lash settings it will be noisy,
That's the nature of the beast.
Just make certain that's the same cam in there now.

The differential is something you’ll have to figure out. Lash it .026/.028 stone cold and then pull a valve cover when hot and just check an intake and an exhaust and see what the difference is. Then you can lash them again when it’s cold and adjust for the temp change in your lash setting.

I was a Chrysler Service Manager back when that cam was new
do not let it get loose or it will slam on the opening ramp
a little tighter is ok but makes the duration even longer- it's plenty long for its lift
cam was designed to work even when worn in and plenty tolerant
There are much better profiles available today if you ever need to change= better springs too

Sounds like a good plan, thanks

So I finally found the correct part number for the o rings that go into the Milodon spark plug tube adapter seals. So out to the garage to put things back together. This is what I find. Like I originally stated the engine sounded loud on the passenger bank. Yet I found this broken spring on cylinder 7 drivers bank. ??

That should help the noise alright, wonder you
didn't have a dead cylinder.

So I ended up with 2 broken intake valve springs, concerned as to why they would break in the first place. Went over the valve adjustment numerous times before buttoning everything up. Started right up, now the unusual noises I had are gone but on the side that the valve spring kind of overlapped itself it sounds like I missed the adjustment and ticks louder than the rest. Solid lifters, I checked for coil bind, no bent push rods and I'm quite sure the adjustment is correct. Being that the spring broke and was overlapping itself I keep thinking it must have been coil binding each time that valve opened. Could anything happen to the internals of a solid lifter to make noise? Any ideas?

I’d be more concerned if the valves kissed each other or a piston with the broken springs. May be in you best interest to do a leak down

I agree. I would do a leak down check.
I get the common sense to do that, but would it account for the louder ticking in the area where the badly broken spring was?
Fyi there is no misfire, runs very strong.

Is it still ticking after fixing broken springs?
It's sounds as if I left a valve or 2 a little loose on the lash adjustment. But I'm 99 percent sure I did not I checked multiple times.

Got the right springs?

You can bore a scope that cylinder to see if you dinged a piston.
That of course would not be your noise.

The springs that I bought the car with are single spring with damper, wire size is about .220
