Need Some Advise on Buying

My advice is ask him how much he wants for the 73/74 parked ahead of it. :) That's the one you should be going for!

Good stuff guys! I'm going to take the advise and run. What really sucks is that the seller is a pretty cool guy to talk too over the phone. I contacted him because he had an ad on CL for a 68' Roadrunner (running for $7,500), which turned out to be a Satellite... then he told me about the car I had in question, so I was considering it... ONLY because I was already pumped up and in the "instant gratification" mood... good thing I didn't pull the trigger.

Now I'm back on my journey in finding another Roadrunner project.

Thanks again guys!!!

I'm strictly looking for a 68' to 69' Roadrunner.

Not really concerned if it is numbers matching... I plan on building a pretty modern turbo cruiser/rod out of a Roadrunner. I enjoyed restoring my father in-laws Roadrunner, but he was SOOOOOOOOO key on keeping it close to original and no modern upgrades, that it drove me crazy. I love the size, body lines of the Roadrunner, and the name as well. So yea, my heart is completely set on getting one.

I will come to this forum for future advise and when I get one, I will definately create a build thread!

BTW, it'll be worth your time to stop by whatever office handles titling in your state, ask for a manager, and ask them what you have to do to title and register a car with no title, especially one from out of state. This is a pretty common occurrence with old cars, and there's a good chance you might encounter it again. Some states are pretty easy to get a car retitled and some are near impossible, and it's best to know how your state operates before you go shopping.

They're all good guys over the phone.

If you want to build a car like this, why not just buy a Belvedere or Satellite?

Socrates Cranium has a good ring to it.
